gas at truck stops

i plan to head south for the winter which i do have a spot saved. and i am towing a 35' fifth wheeler with a gas ford f-250 and i am wondering if most brands have gas lanes in their truck lanes?
the reason i ask is last yr traveling rt 95 and rt 75 in a class c with toad i got in real tight places in car gas lanes and now with a bigger setup i would be up the creek.
so what brand should i look for with gas in their truck lanes and where are they usually like near the store end or all lane's or? and are the marked with gas. the reason i ask is that there is a truck stop near me and they have a gas lane but it is not marked and if you are not acquainted with that station you would have to go in and ask then startup your rig and move it again .
last yr i pulled into i forget what brand truck stop and pulled up on the truck lanes and they did not have a gas lane pump in their truck lanes so i pulled around to the car lanes and it was very tight but i did make it but boy was it tight , like the mrs had to get out and move a trash can and i had to wait because of people opening the store doors, so i wouldn't hit them. and i also found out that cars have very little mercy with this type of experience . i even had cars pull in front and so i had to wait on them to leave.
so give me truck lanes please!

I also feel your pain. I finally added a 40 gallon fuel tank, from Northern tool, to my 2006 RAM. That gives me 72 gallon capacity, now I rarely have to stop with the 5th wheel to fill up! We like to start looking for places to overnight aroun 3:00PM. Stop unhook, and while DW is fixing dinner, I go with the TV and fill up for the next day. Never will I go close to the 720 miles in one day! I can check around and find a place with the lowest per gallon rate, and not have to worry about low awnings, or tight turns!

Not all Flying J's have RV islands ... in fact in my experience a considerable portion of them do not, so don't just rely on that before exiting the highway. I use AllStay's Camp and RV app to locate gas stations along my route ... and then I Google Earth those stations to examine how much access they would provide . Street View can also be helpful. A lot of people with larger gas RVs choose their gas stations this way.

Flying J's have RV Islands that have both gas and diesel.
make for easy in & out. Also with a GS card swiped at pump you get a discount.

Going south most of them has a Denny's inside. After a fill up at RV island pull into a RV parking spot and have something to eat. Hard to beat their Biskits & Gravy, one egg, hash browns for $4. Less if you use your AARP 15% discount card. 🙂

Hi Mussfly, welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately I do not have a solution for your problem but, having experienced the same issues, I do sympathize.(F250, Cougar 327 RES)
My experience has been hit and missed. For the most part truck stop chains like Flying J have been more sensitive to big rigs. Many even welcome overnight stays(no hook ups), dump stations, showers, meals etc.

I find the Good Sam Trip Planning application to be helpful in scouting out your fuel stops before leaving for your destination. Picking up a Blue Beacon site pamphlet also helps combine a fuel stop with a rig wash as you approach your destination.

Happy trails... enjoy !!
