Gladiator Tires

I have just bought a 36-foot 5th wheel that came with E rated Goodyear Marathons. I want to replace the Marathons before using the trailer. It came with G-rated wheels so they can handle up to 110 psi.

Anyone running the Gladiator tire (All Steel) on a 35+ foot 5th wheel? If so, how has it performed for you?

I have already searched the forum and read some postings on the Gladiator, but still can't decide to go with the Gladiator All Steel (G-3750# load rating) for about $156 or the Bridgestone Duravis R250 (E-3086# load rating) for about $215.

I like that the Gladiator has a much higher load rating and lower cost (which is not all that important to me), but the brand doesn't have the reputation that Bridgestone has.

Any advice appreciated.

My Sailuns were $175 and change shipped to my door. Took 40 hrs from the time I ordered till they arrived. Ordered Sun evening and arrived Tues afternoon, incredible. Cost $15 each to have them mounted, balanced, and installed at the local Ford house, go figure.

Please share your bad reputation information. Sailun are Chinese made as well. Sams, Costco and Discount Tire all selling the Greenball ST 2358516LRF, 3850 @ 90psi, 12 ply rated tires seems to us to mean they've actually done their research.

Sailun tires are a TS16949 accredited manufacturer....meaning, PROVEN quality product, ..They meet the same stringent criterium my company has to meet to prove out quality and manufacturing processes, with records , to compete globally and have proof of a quality manufactured product.

Just because Sam's, Cosco and Discount tires sell them, really doesn't mean as much as who manufactured them and what kind of a quality reputation they have....at this point, the Sailun tire is way ahead of the curve...and at a great price to boot

As I am new to the forum I have had nothing but gd results with Gladiator tires. I have ran them on my dodge as well as many trailers. Just installed a set on my 5th wheel and took a 500 mile trip with no issues.

As I stated earlier, "detailed specs and availability on the Sailun's was pretty much non-existent in my area."

Any tire can be shipped to you then have a local tire shop do the install.

I know that, but I wanted to trade in the new Goodyear's that came on the trailer. I got $75 each in trade at Les Schwab and that was not a possibility if I bought from a non-local dealer.

More importantly, I couldn't find a complete set of specs on the Sailun online so I was unable to fully compare them to other options. (The specs may have been there someplace, but I couldn't find them.)

I went with the Gladiators back in May.

I don't think I went cheap in terms of the Gladiator's construction. It is an all-steel tire (tread and sidewall), and weighs about 55 pounds compared to the Goodyear Marathons at about 38 pounds each.

I just didn't think I needed to spend over $300 on the Goodyear G's to get a well-constructed tire. And detailed specs and availability on the Sailun's was pretty much non-existent in my area.

Of course, time will tell if I made a good decision.

OP you have a very expensive RV why would you "Cheap Out" on tires?????

trailertiresandwheels.com have good prices on fresh GY "G" tires. Put them on and don't worry about the tires.

I have THOUSANDS of miles logged on GY "G" and "H" tires with out even a flat.

Finally doing a followup. I put the Gladiator tires on my Horse trailer. The trailer is routinely loaded at about 12,000 pounds.
It pulls a little easier. I regularly inspect the tires and so far, they are all doing great. They probably have around 4000 miles on them now.
