I've got a thread going on the TH forum and thought I'd post about it here also, after all it is a 5th. wheel TH.

In process of closing deal...Will be trading 5er in my sig. for a 2016 Jayco Seismic 4112 TH.
It has a GVW of 20,000# and is 45' long:E...Pretty niffy looking 5er...The unit has two full baths, 3 AC's, built in Onan gen set...3 axle with tires that won't be on it long:R, full body paint, residential fridge that can run on the inverter and well, it's pretty well loaded out, we'll have our washer/dryer combo and they'll put a new Wingard slim line HD satellite on the roof like one on my current 5er.

Thought I'd share in case some of my buddies didn't venture over to the TH forums.

Figure it may be about 10 day's to 2 weeks before it's ready to go and I'll post pictures when I get the chance.

...anyway, just wanted to share:)... really looking forward to camping in it..Looks like a quality built unit.

Good point Chris, I had thought about what to do with tires and am still pondering what to do.

Tire spacing looks a little tight to put the larger LT235 Sailun or R250's tires on it. You will loose a full inch between tires. You could put LT245/75R16E R250's on it. However you may have to spend the money for G614's or convert to 17.5 rims and tires. Westlake seems to be the china bomb of choice now, soon it will be something else. I would insist on G614 as part of the deal! Chris

Greg, my old good buddy, welcome to rv.net. If I get in a fix, I'll call you and with your towing experience, I should be OK. Stick around.. there are some good folks in here that are quiet knowledgeable.

Probably wont get it until weekend after next...looking forward to it.

That's a cool looking unit Chris...We've bought a lot of RV's over the years and I think everyone we've ever owned, there have been pro's and con's with all of them...The one we have now has served the wife and I well for years....but though a beautiful floor plan, it still had some issues if we were going to stay in it long term....There is just Kathy and I and our two dog's...so seating to watch a 55" TV doesn't bother us as much, heck the couch/recliner will also act as a message and heated recliner:).

Some like things one way and some don't...I got a heck of a deal on this unit and that was the determining factor...2 yr warranty with Jayco also helped.

Oh, and in regards to tires, I would highly recommend the Sailuns if you need to run a Load Range G. I had them installed in April on our new to us unit; they are a super heavy duty tire that are wearing like steel all for a reasonable price!

It came with E rated Westlake tires (??), speed rated to 75mph,(no, won't do that, usually max is 65mph)...I'm not sure if wheels are rated for 110 psi, if they are, I'll go with Sailun, (I've been speaking highly of them for over a year...If E rated needed, may replace with Duravis 250's...IF wheels are rated for 110psi, I'll go with Sailun's if it'll work

Congrats Jim!

You must be getting close to retirement, when you can really enjoy some travel time.

Will you be hauling some toys, or planning to use the garage door for a deck?

Jerry

No toy's just a place to store things...got bicycles and some exercise equipment. Yes, will use garage door as a deck...

Good Lord willing, 1 August of next year is retirement date:)

Cool, congratulations! Thanks for posting here; I don't visit the toy hauler forum much so I may not have known this.

We've looked at several of the higher end Jayco products and are convinced they are pretty well built. We were actually very close to pulling the trigger on a Pinnacle.

What made you decide to go to a toy hauler? We also thought of going that route but had trouble finding a layout that we liked and I don't think we would have gotten some of the larger ones (like yours) into our back yard! That is a beautiful looking unit, though.

And lastly, are you sure you have enough truck for that? 😉 You know someone is going to ask! I know it will handle it just fine!

Please post some photos when you get it!

I may have to upgrade to a bigger truck:)....We love our HR Presidential Suite, it's been great, replaced one front landing gear and that was only issue, rest jut normal maintenance. Reason we are going to a TH is that we needed a little more room when we decide to retire and run around in a 5er. Will keep it on my property in WVa most of the year and when it get's really cold, probably head south and will also visit out west some. This unit has two full baths and lot's of space to keep things....We don't have any "toy's' but will utilize the garage to store things and keep bicycle's and some exercise equipment.

Current 5er is 39' 9" long and weighs in at 16,300 (CAT scale weight), The Jayco has a GCWR of 20,000 and "empty" weight 15, 650#...it's also 45' long, so guess I'll have to re-learn how to corner with it.....

Probably pick it up early week after next
