There's not that much difference in size between like 2500's and 3500 SRW trucks is there?

You have a RV in my opinion that SHOULD BE towed with a Dually!

These people living on the edge hopefully some day will see the light.

I am sure you feel the same my combo is rock solid in all weather conditions. I have to look at the trees most of the time to see if the wind is blowing.

I see bigger fifths being pulled with 2500 trucks than our 35ft alpenlite
of course it is not a problem but one guy last winter felt his Montana shoves him around but no way he want more than his SB 2500 GMC.

Jim, why does anyone that has a 5th wheel in their future purchase a 2500, when a SRW 3500 is only a few hundred dollars more! The 3500 has a better rear spring pack and placard that allows one to use the extra capacity without warranty issues. Chris

Chris, may be like me when I first purchased a 2500, going from a 1500....just didn't think about it, sort of like the only 3500 I knew about was dually's.....another thing I've noticed in some area's...you'll see lot's of 2500's and maybe as many 3500 Dually's, .but the 3500 SRW doesn't seem to be as popular for some reason, THOUGH, as you stated, they offer more payload and more GCWR for not very much more...I'd opt for a 3500 SRW, but believe the OP already has a brand new 2013 2500HD....

I'm "assuming" it's either a 2012 or 2013 Ram 2500? If we know the year of the truck and it's configuration, ie, Mega cab, crew cab, long bed, short bed, 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive, it'll help with information you may want to know....

If you're in Erwin TN, your "just over the mountain" from Asheville on I26, correct?

ON EDIT: OK, looked at a few other post and it appears you purchased a 2013 2500HD. though it shows it could tow a 17,000# 5er..don't take that to the bank...don't know if you'd have enough payload to handle possibly a 3400# pinweight in the bed of your truck...I'd stay around 12,000# GVW on a 5er....probably go to 14,000 GVW max....

If people would give some more info they would be getting better and more answers.

You gave good info on the RV's but just saying "new dodge 2500 diesel does not tell the whole story".

You said new, it could be a 12 or 13. What year and is it an auto or stick or what gear ratio? They all make a big difference.

Also post your rig or rigs in your signature.

Class dismissed!

New to you Dodge Diesel or a brand new Dodge? If it is a brand new Dodge, can I ask why you did not opt for the SRW 3500? The 3500 has better GVWRing numbers for 5th weights for very little additional cost.
