Anyone ever seen a handheld remote for the awning, rear jacks, and slide outs? Reason I am asking is because on my `09 Cardinal I found a brochure that showed remotes. I bought this Cardinal used so I do not know if the first owner had one or not.

Our '11 Cougar 318SAB came with one. Didn't use it much at first because we weren't used to having a remote. Over time we found ourselves using it more often, but, would become annoyed, when like most remotes, it wasn't in its holding spot when one of us went to use it; either I had it and she wanted it or vice versa or one of us laid it down instead of putting it back in its spot on the control panel. Solution? We bought a second one off eBay and keep it in the truck and the other in the trailer; problem solved for us.
My 2 cents, your mileage may vary...

When we purchased our Coachman it did not have the remote system but the Cougar we looked at did. I purchased a kit and installed it myself and it controls the slideout and the awning. We love having it but the only drawback is you can't hang lights from your awning and put it away with the remote laying in bed if it starts raining. Currently looking for lights that can just be rolled up in the awning.

I have one for our Open Range. Use it sometimes when I can find it. It seams the remote is never near me when I want to do something such as extend or retract the awning.

We have one for the Cougar, It went through the wash, never worked quite right since, so I really didn't miss it, and wasn't going to pay 100 bucks to replace it. But I found one on eBay, bought it and programmed it. Use it all the time now.

Saleman showed us how it worked when we did the PDI, used once when we got home.
It's in the truck and honestly we forget it's there. Never use it.

Had a 2011 ,39' cardinal. Had to stand in just the"right spot" to get the remote to work.
Never used it.don't worry about getting the remote.

To the OP, if you think Cardinal has one installed and you don't have the remote you'll first need to verify if this true. You'll need to find the control box for the remote which is located behind a panel or cabinet near most of the systems wiring.

Most trailers that have the remote system are built by Lippert (LCI) so that's one thing to look for. If you can't find the control box then I'll bet your trailer doesn't have it.

JKrussow, yea, I did some looking around and found 2 control boxes and then got on the Alta Resources website, looks like I can order the remotes from them.

I have on it's nice to have when you are in a tight spot however I really don't use it that often. Stays in a closet on a hook most of the time.

I have one in my Cougar. I use it all the time for the slides and occasionally the awning.
This is Ford country, on a quiet night you can hear a Chevy rust.

We have one with out '10 Fuzion that operates the awning, slides, rear and front stabilizers, and overhead light. Used it a couple times, but mostly it hangs on a hook inside. Another answer to a question that was never asked. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have one with my 2013 Cedar Creek 34rlsa. Its like the remote control for the television, yes you don't have to have it but it sure makes things easier and faster. I use mine all the time. It is really nice when hooking up and disconnecting.

We have one in our 2013 Cedar Creek 34 RLSA. I would say your Cardinal should have one - both by FR.
