My father is looking at purchasing a Coachman Chaparral 5th wheel. Does any one have any feedback about this manufacturer and things to watch for.

Thanks ahead of time for any help.

We love ours! Had a few problems... TV died, water heater had crack that only leaked "sometimes" finally found it! Only complaint from Coachman was...poorly sealed shower door and found (the hard way) 2 screws up through the floor.

Is it the open trail 26rls? If so we have the same one and love it!

I do believe that is what they purchased. They are picking it up later this week. I hope all goes well. My Dad is a little apprehensive being his first fifth wheel and all.

They should really like it, keep us up to date on everything

My wife loves our Coachmen Brookstone. The Brookstone and the Chapperal are made on the same line. I hope your parents enjoy their Coachmen as much.

We just purchased a Chaparral Signature 327RLKS. We'll let you know, but we feel we received good value for what we spent.

We've had ours out 3x now and it gets easier every time. Except for the thermostat being in the factory test setting, everything has been first class and no need to visit the dealer yet.

We purchased the one In our signature in March and we really like it. We have only done a couple of weekends so far but are heading to Colorado soon. We haven't had any issues other than loose exterior trim around front but it was fixed easily and quickly.

Thanks for all of the responses. My folks bought a new 26RLS and take delivery sometime early May. They are moving up from a Lance pickup camper and I think they will enjoy the extra space. We already have 4 trips planned this summer! Now if the weather would just start to cooperate.

We purchased ours new and have had no major problems. Replaced a roof vent and the converter. Do some minor repairs. We are weekenders and vacationers and keep it in a shed. High end units are nice but I prefer the Chaparal and spend the rest on other stuff.

We just purchased the 325MKS. We will get it in a couple of weeks. But will not get a chance to use until Memorial weekend.

We have a 2010 Chaparral 355 with the loft in the back. It's been great for us. A few minor adjustments that a screwdriver could handle.
No leaks and the bath and a half is great! Priced right for what we use it for, weekend getaways.

The 5er in sig is our 1st 5er but 2nd Coachmen. We have only had it since Christmas Eve, was my Christmas present from wife. We belong to the local Coachmen camping club and several members have Chaparral's. Seem to be a good bang for the buck. My Dad owned Coachmen's for 30+ years. Never got a bad one. Good luck, John.
