I got to close to a tree with my Laredo 5th wheel. Broke the stationary glass above the tilt out at the dining table. I have some questions I hope some can answer. Is this a diy or dealer/repair shop issue? Should I order the glass from Keystone dealer or can an auto glass dealer cut and replace? If diy does the entire window (frame/glass), need to come out? Any suggestions, (other than stay away from trees), would be appreciated !

I came home from Mexico once with my dinette stationary window broke. Took it to the dealer and they removed the window and sent it to a local glass company, then reinstalled it. Could have done it myself and saved a few bucks.

Plexiglass can be cut to fit temporarily, as I did while ordering a new window unit.

Hope the frame is OK?

I took a chunk of the rear window of my Laredo to a glass shop and darned if he didn't have a piece of tempered glass of the same tint.

Since the one taken out was only in two pieces he cut and polished the edges and it went right back into the frame.

If I had it to do over i think I would have dropped the fifth there and had him R and R it.

You can replace it yourself, ordering it from dealer and delivery is the problem. I did mine, good luck.

I had a broken window and tried to have glass dealer repair it. Nothing would have matched. Ordered out a window from the manufacturer.

Had a trailer with a back cap similar to a toy hauler. When I had to rebuild the rear cap I went to a local glass shop and had two stationary windows (deadlights) made and installed. Only thing that took some time was that the glass had to be tempered.

And anyone who makes a smart remark is asking for a visit by the bad karma fairy.
