How many people use the patio on toyhaulers

Just wondering how many people use the patio on the toy haulers I have 3 kids and if they were sleeping back there it seems it would be a pain to set the patio up and break it down every night

Sometimes it's not the neighbors but it's the trees in the campground, at least in Oregon.

A campground without room for a side patio wouldn't be a place I'd like to camp anyway... wouldn't you feel like sardines if you're that close to your neighbor on the sides?

Just FYI. For those who say they camp at places with no room for a side patio. Our awning sticks out further than the side patio.

I like that because if its slightly raining, we can still hang out and watch TV while keeping dry. On hot days, it keeps the sun off and a breeze usually blows through between the awning and the patio floor. Its really nice.

The side patio isn't like the ramp. Its much wider but only sticks out maybe 8'.

Nope. Don't use it.

We don't. And I made sure we got one with no patio sides/fence option as I didn't want to deal with it loading and unloading toys.

Its nice eating breakfest out on the patio.

If you decide to get the patio, make sure you get the patio rail system that swings out and then rolls to lock into place. Much easier than the first ones that fold down onto the ramp door.

My wife uses a walker, therefore going in/out of the RV is an issue. Having both rear and side patio is one way she can enjoy the outdoors when we are hanging out the campground. With the addition of a half bath, she can go inside to use the toilet without using either the outside stairs or interior stair to the bedroom. Unfortunately there are no rigs with the above options with going "big" .. I envy all of you that can simply "sit outside" and don't need the patio.. or worry about stairs.. ALOT more floorplan options!

My current hauler doesn't have the patio option. My sweetie wants one on our next hauler but I really don't care one way or another. When we camp we are by the camp fire in lawn chairs and the campers are in a square or somewhat of a circle so wouldn't be feasible to use one. I know on my next hauler I will be putting some silicone around the metal frame inside and out to help seal out water and help the door hopefully last a while. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone leave the ramp down in the rain without sealing them. Side patio might get used in our case maybe a bit more than a rear patio.

I don't have all the bells and whistles for my patio, but when I've rolled up to a bluff with a view I found that a standard wooden picnic table underneath works just find to hold my large door perfectly level to place out a few chairs on and a small table.

Honestly for us we didn't use the patio, and at that time I had made the setup since it wasn't factory. I used it on two trips, when we camped near a river and our first trip out with it. Reality was that we spent most of the time by the campfire and not inside. If I were to buy another toy hauler I'm not sure it's a feature that would drive me to buy the unit, I wouldn't pay much extra for it that's for sure. But that is just how WE camp, you need to decide what's best for YOU.

I have owned 3 toyhaulers and never used the rear ramp as a deck. Very seldom do I ever use the awning either. Usually out during the day riding, boating, dog walks, exploring. Of a evening if I sit out is usually cooking or by a campfire for socializing.

never use. Kid uses back bunk and couches have kid junk on them etc back there so not worth bothering, plus we use our awning as our 'outdoor room' and leave the hauler door closed.
