How sweet it is

I went back to riding MC last yea after a many year absence. I had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed it. I traveled last year with a Rampage lift and enjoyed the ease of loading but out of five trips last year, I hit nasty weather on four of them. Takes a couple of hours to get the bike back cleaned up again.
Last month, I checked a nearby dealer and looked at the Octane and wound up bringing it home. Got most of it switched around where I want it - dinette gone, recliner in, new table made most of my stuff packed. Since I'm planning on leaving the north country next week, I loaded the bike for the first time today. Dang, is that sweet. Using a HF chock stabilized the front, rings are in just the right place and the softtail is tied down and ready to go.
Now to get through this week and get on the road to warm weather.

Sorry for the delay with the pics, but things did not go well the last few days, bad news from the Dr. Looks like I get to do battle with the Big C. I'm already a week late leaving and now add some more days. He did say don't cancel the trip so that may be good.

Anyhow, some pics.

Jim, it's a Harley softtail Deluxe. Of the Harleys I've been on, I kind like this the best. Seating position is more in the bike than on it.

I'll see if I can get pics tomorrow, bike is loaded and ready to go soon.

Yes. Once the motorcycle stuff is in your blood, there is no getting rid of it!
No matter how many "bumps" you take ( I know from experience...) 🙂

I wound up with the 26Y, Doug. Going to serve me very well, I think. With the dinette out and a lift top coffee table in, I get to take a recliner for my next couple of months in Florida. My arthritic knees really don't like this cold weather anymore.

thanks, Bob, Wundermap looks good. I leave myself a couple of day window to leave the north country so I can use that to pick my getaway date. The first day is the only real worry as I can make lower Virginia in one shot, a long day but doable.

Very nice getting back to MC. I miss riding motocross but my knees remind me why i stopped. I really would like to get into the dual sport riding, some day.

Congrats on the trailer.

Hi, congrats. I had looked at the Octane trailers and thought they were very nice. Hope you get many years out of it.
