Yes, both ends have a hinged cap. It makes it easier to access. I also made a cage out of 1/2" pvc that holds my hose inside the tube. It should keep everything from moving around in there.

X2 on the impact damaging the gears in the jack. You need to use a heavy duty driver and that will act just like a electric jack. I love my electric jack and recommend going that way.
