I'm locked out of my new fiver. I have a 2015 Forest River with a Bauer Electronic Lock. I cannot unlock the dead bolt with the keypad or the key. Slides are extended so I cannot take it to the dealer. Anyone have any suggestions. I'll call FR Monday but would like to get inside this weekend. Thanks everyone.

As above, we have a laundry chute into the bedroom. Had to climb into the basement and up thru the laundry chute once when we accidentally locked our only keys inside. Fortunately basement door was not locked. (Now I keep two extra sets in the truck)

Yes sir, have had to do that twice.

Bauer sent me a new lock set and received it on Wednesday. I took my big flat head screwdriver and hammer out to force the lock open and I decided to try my key one last time. Low and behold the key opened the lock, what the h$&%.

I replaced the lock anyway and all seems to be working. I still need to adjust the strike plate so it works without any friction. I will always keep a key with me just in case the keypad has issues.

Kudos go to Bauer who sent me a new lock in two days without question. Now if I can just figure out why the lock worked one minute then jambed the next and work two days later. :h Hopefully this one will not have any issues if it does it will be replaced with a standard lock.

Happy camping.

Your saying you used the very same key that would not, no way, no how work and used it one more time and it did work?. Any ideas on how that happened?

FYI - We have a forest river but with a std lock.

Had trouble getting in. Found out a tooth of the key broke off and the key would not work to open it. We had an animal locked up inside.
While we could manually retract 2 of the slides the third had to be done on the interior.
We were 120 miles from nearest locksmith. Waited 2.5 hours for lock smith ( It was a Sunday)

USed CoachNet service. He had to extract the piece, pick the lock, open it, then rebuild the lock.

The key had been used twice.
Locksmith said it is a common problem with RV's with stamped keys. Suggested we get new keys cut from a stronger blank.

Service contract paid for it - Would have cost more than the service contract.

We have a Bauer lock on our MS and the wife locked herself out using it. However I had my key and opened manually. Personally I think this is a ridiculous feature as it isn't quite like a Ford on the vehicle battery.
When she locked the RV door it was the last cycle of the AA batteries lives and didn't have enough to reopen . So if you have to carry keys just in case, you might as well use the key. We found you can buy better than Duracell batteries however you still have no way of knowing when the last cycle will be.

I had a problem where my key would not insert all the way and I had to pound it into the key hole. I don't use the dead bolt anymore. I'll contact the dealership for a new door lock.

The old cram a flat head screwdriver into the lock and turn it to open is how our truck was broken into several years ago.

Called Bauer this morning and they are overnighting me a new lock. They said it sounds like the bolt has jambed. Told me to pound a flat head screw driver into the lock and force it open. Great customer service. No questions asked about when I purchased it, jutt apologizes several times. If cannot get it open I'll call a locksmith.

Sounds like the dead bolt has failed -OR- somehow your door is binding so bad even your key isn't working. I'd call a lock smith, he's probably "been there, seen that" .

We have a Bauer lock on our unit, experienced being able to "lock" the door but not "unlock". Read the manual and found out the batteries have to be changed out periodically :S

Good luck with your situation.

My first thought was along the lines of The Sturgeon Phish. Go to the local Sherriffs office. They might have somebody there experienced in breaking through locks.

Sorry, could not resist. Hope you got into it.

Is there not an external over ride switch fore the slides so you can get it to the dealer for repairs?
