I lot of people have took an interest in the off roading community with all the new UTV's it was the same years back when the 3 wheel ATV's came out as well, now with the Toy haulers you have a way to bring your toys out with the conveniences of home.

I found Jawbone Canyon is great at Christmas. I could not imagine being there in the summer! It never snowed on me at Christmas, but I have heard of it snowing on my friends at Christmas and Thanksgiving. March was getting to warm for my liking. It can be really dusty and dry in the summer, much nicer after a couple of rains settles down the dust in the fall.

I would much rather be at a higher altitude such as Frasier Peak or the off road area near Gorman. There are trails connecting Frasier Peak antenna's with the off road area in the valley below. Lots of great views from the mountain top.

I would recommend that you check out Gorman on Google maps, and have it as a back up plan in case Jawbone is not to comfortable. . They are not that far apart if you take 14 south to 138, then west to Gorman. Or look for a riding area near Lake Isabella. It is a higher altitude, and thus cooler.

Good luck!

Fred.

We are always in Gorman. We love it, but we want to get away from it for a bit. It's always are go to spot if we don't end up anywhere else.

We will be there with our (New to us) 2007 Rage'n Stryker 2007, it will be our first trip in the trailer. Yes it can be warm this time of year but the nights can be wonderful. We like to camp in the area at the end of the main road towards the back of the canyon. The store is having a Band Sunday, hopefully it won't be to crowded. Have a good and safe time, stop by if you see us, Micheal

Money can't buy happiness but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a

Porsche or Country Coach!

If there's a WILL, I want to be in it!

I havn't been everywhere, but it's on my list.

Normally would be pretty crowded on a big weekend but I don't know if many go Memorial, its usually too hot. Might get lucky this year. I think you're a SxS family so it should be lots of fun, not so much for us two wheeled folks, most all fireroads.

Have a great time there is a lot of good riding out there. Just be cautious as weather can easily reach into the high 90's by Memorial weekend. Take lots of water. Also snake season so keep your eyes open.
