We have been looking for a new 5 wheel and have been considering the Jayco Eagle HT 27.5 RLTS. Anyone have an Eagle HT and can shed any light. As always thanks for your input.

The leak was from a screw that had not been seeded properly near the top. It was fixed & noted by Jayco. I have NOT seen any trace of damage. Also, we had some minor warranty work that was taken care of by Jayco. I do plan to have one more round of warranty repairs complete before my warranty runs out at the end of Dec. 2016. All are minor. Grey tank sensor not working, shower door a little sag, metal plate holds couch in place is broke.

As far as the unit we love it. Kids sleep in living room (holds blow up queen & son sleeps on cot). She easy to hook up, set up & break down to leave. I did go back & got my dealership to add a 2nd a/c. Best $900-1000 I have spent. I do empty the black tank each day but we could go 3 days without dumping. Shower tank we hold about 4 normal showers. I do not dry camp so it is fine with me.

Improvements I would like to see:
Only 2 led lights at main light switch (I think newer models have more), table took up too much room so we took it out, more outside storage. I added a storage rack city n back (hitch receiver) and a sturdy black box to hold sewer hoses, water hoses, wheel blocks...etc and it works very well.

I would buy the unit over again.

Thanks for chiming in; hadn't heard the final fix for your leak issue. I think that in '16 they changed to all LEDs throughout. One thing that is just a total numbskull job was that they placed the external speakers on the =slide= instead of under the awning. Don't know about you, but I'm not sitting in the sun to listen to my music, but under the awning. The '16-17's now have the speakers under the awning, where it should have been in the first place. Sorta like the idiot at GM that decided that us drivers aren't smart enough to properly use an OD cutoff, or otherwise manually select 4th, on our 5-speed Allison transmissions...

Gotta ask; did you ever see the underside of your rig with the coroplast removed, while it was being worked on? Would love to know how much room there is around the black tank for a possible replacement. Jayco is =very= reticent about sharing schematics and I have yet to find a dealer service dept. that will.

The leak was at the front (cap) not underneath.

This model is on my short list for the next FW. One person here, zackyboy3rs, did have a pretty serious issue on his '15 (IIRC) 27.5RLTS with a water leak that took some digging to find. Last I knew, he had it fixed, but the long-term water damage issues are yet to be determined. My one real issue is the anemic-sized black tank, at only 32.5 gallons; 13 less than my old Komfort that we like to boondock in. We just got back from a family campout (36 attending this year), and the black tank was near-full. No way we would have survived with the Jayco. If I can find a schematic of the plumbing, I'd spend the $ and put a larger black tank in...once it was out of warranty.

I know our 26.5 RLS has a 32.5 gallon black tank, but it has two 32.5 gallon grey water tanks. We have never come close to filling up our black tank even though we spend a week at a time camping without hookups. I guess if you were entertaining a bunch of people for a period of time, 32.5 might be a bit small, but for two people, I would think it would be fine, as it is for us.

That's my problem. When we go, our adult kids will tent, but the wimmin-folk aren't fans of pooping in the woods. ๐Ÿ™‚ Then, you have some of the young kids who think nothing of just wandering in and using the head when you're not looking. Brats, even though we love 'em. ๐Ÿ™‚

In my ideal world, Jayco and KZ would get together and meld the Eagle HT 27.5RLTS and the Durango 1500 D284RLT. ๐Ÿ™‚

We looked at it long and hard. The dealer had a '16 he wanted to blow out for cheap. The holding tank sizes were the deal killer. They market that trailer to the half ton folks here.

WE ORDERED IN A 2016 JAYCO EAGLE HT 27.5 RLTS AND PICKED IT UP IN APRIL. WE HAVE CAMPED IN IT 30 NIGHTS SO FAR. THIS IS A NICE 5VER FOR TWO PEOPLE. SO FAR WE ARE PLEASED WITH IT. HAVING TWO TT BEFORE THIS THE 5VER TOWS SO MUCH NICER. I DID THE MAXXIS TIRE/WHEEL UPGRADE AS MY TRUCK STANDS TALL. I ALSO USE THE REVOLUTION HITCH WITH MY SHORT BED TRUCK. THE ELECTRIC FIREPLACE IS ALSO A NICE OPTION AND WORKS WELL. THE SWIVAL/RECLINER CHAIRS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE, BUT SOMEWHAT OF A PAIN TO POSITION TO BRING THE SLIDES IN. I'VE HAD SOME MINOR WARRANTY WORK DONE WHICH I'VE HAD TO DO WITH EVERY BRAND I'VE OWNED OVER THE YEARS. IT ALSO COMES WITH A RECEIVOR HITCH SO ITS GREAT TO PULL MY BOAT BEHIND. SO FAR, SO GOOD, TIME WILL TELL, BUT I THINK WE'LL BE PLEASED WITH THIS UNIT.

2015 Eagle HT 28.5 we just love it only problem we had was front cap fade witch was a issue they had for about a year. But all covered under warranty had it repainted and was only gone 4 days and warranty service is super easy. We have about 11,000 miles and 135 days in our rig in the last year and three month's. So it has been well tested so far.

We have a 2016 rlts. It seems ok as you know it s not a high end unit but so far so good. We have had some warranty work done. Our fresh water tank would drain substantially while driving. Our propane tank door would not stay shut on the highway driving at 60 mph, the outdoor shower you could not plug in the quick connect hose, part of one of the decals was missing, the rear wall and roof trim on the outside was not good and the furnace access panel would fall out every time we traveled. They fixed those items under warranty though it took 6 months from beginning to end. Not sure how much of that time was Jayco dragging their feet or Camping World dragging their feet but felt it was unacceptable either way, they both threw each other under the bus. The work was done to my satisfaction so far anyway. The only real issue I have had since is the bathroom fan is a poor design. It is supposed to be a rain proof design so that you can run it in the rain. Well we used it maybe 5 times and the cover broke. IT has some plastic hinges on it for lack of a better term to open and closed the cover. Well it rained one day we were out and it started leaking pretty good. One side the "hinge" portion was completely missing and the other side it cracked the whole length. After my previous experience with Camping World I just replaced it myself with a fantastic vent fan that is a different design. I didn't want it replaced under warranty with the same poor design. Well come to find out there are apparently quite a few doing that and they are being replaced with a different fan from what I have read on a couple of forums. So I may have been a bit hasty in not wanting to go back to CW for warranty work but I still saved at least two trips 50 miles each way and having to take off work to get there before they closed and was able to use the trailer. However other than those items so far the trailer has been good we have been pleased with it. It tows well, based on some unscientific observations via my tpms that I added to the tires that also monitor temps it seems to be fairly well balanced as the tire temps are within 1 or 2 degrees both front to rear and side to side, variations seemingly only dependent on which side the sun is shining on. It has plenty of room in the kitchen and living area, the bathroom seems fine. The bedroom the sides are a bit tight but no real issue you just have to watch for that short step if you get up in the middle of the night or are still half asleep in the morning. The sofa bed in the living area is not something I would want to sleep on but neither my wife or I will be so it is not an issue for me.

We own a 2012 HT 26.5 RLS and I think the 27.5 is somewhat like ours, based on the floorpans I have looked at. On our RLS we have to move the swivel chair next to the slide-out since the area for the chair is not long enough for the slide to bypass it when coming in. I think that problem has been fixed with the 27.5. Other than that, we have really enjoyed ours so far in four seasons of camping. Plenty of room and with the rear living, the tv, when you watch it, is directly in front of you so you don't have to crane your neck to watch tv. For the two of us, it's just the right size. One little thing I would change, just haven't yet, is the lack of drawers in the pantry next to the fridge. There are no drawers with a great deal of vertical space with just one shelf. I think the reduces the utility of the pantry. That may not be the case on the 27.5, I haven't looked at one to see.
