Let's See Isolated Camp Sites

I was reading the thread on 2WD vs. 4WD tow vehicles and people were talking about needing 4x4 to camp in isolated areas. bpound (I think) posted a shot of his rig in the desert in what appears to be a very isolated spot. I would love to see some more with some information about where it is and how it was to get there. We used to always seek out remote spots to truck/tent camp but since we moved on to fancier RVs we've stopped doing most of that. Now the most remote we get is a site without hookups!

So, please post up your best remote, isolated camping shots.

That could probably be fixed with PhotShop

bobx2 that is one of the best views I've seen. Now that is what I call camping.

Beautiful. I would expect some deer out in that meadow at dawn/dusk.

I was wondering why you camo'd your ATVs under pine boughs?

Haha, that picture is kind of deceiving. That is actually just a low hanging branch in front of them. We parked them under the trees to keep some of the rain off of them when the afternoon thunder storms roll through.
Can't beat the view we had from around the fire ring.

Either you don't know how to level your trailer, or that site has a real nice slope!!:B

I was wondering why everything kept rolling out the door when I opened it. 🙂 At least I didn't have to worry about water ponding up when it rained...

Check out the "Public Lands and Boondocking" forum here on RV.net. You will find plenty of pictures and location ideas.

I'm happy to share general locations with others. Someone shared them with me at some point.

Those look awesome! We are not far from there as I type. We are "packed in" at Goulding's in Monument Valley. Drove by the GC turn off yesterday. Thanks for posting.

For others; the purpose of this thread wasn't just for me or to "steal" other's special places. I just thought it would be fun to see some fabulous, remote camping locations. Share yours or don't, your choice. 🙂

One of the more bizarre places I have overnighted is this abandoned WWII era airfield at Manzanar CA.

4WD not needed for either of these. 🙂
