Looking for suggestions on best washer and dryer

Hi everyone,

We are in the market for a washer and dryer for the new to us 5th wheel trailer we recently purchased. The new trailer has the typical 24" space for a stacked set or the single combo unit. I am open to looking for used units on craigslist and ebay, etc...and also willing to purchase new.

Have have owned a Splendide 2000S combo unit for approx. 10 years and have moved it to a few different RV's. It has been a good machine overall but it has come to the end of it's life and I would rather not install it in the new trailer.

I am looking for opinions on what to use...stay with the combo or get a two pc. set. Other brands besides Splendide? I definitely want a vented dryer. For those who have the two pc. sets, why do you like them better? Are they larger capacity?

It's just the two of us and we have done fine over the years with basically washing a load of clothes everyday so we kinda like the concept of using the space half for a machine and half for storage. I know everyone has different needs and preferences so I am just looking for feedback about various machines before we purchase something.

Thanks much!

Must have gotten a good washer because they have a horrible reputation for not discharging all the water.

Best washer and dryer: uses no electricity, packs away anywhere, is portable, can be use during any season of the year, very inexpensive, durable, no moving parts to break down, no maintenance, perfect for boomdocking:

Um.... you absolutely cannot get more 'vented' than this:

🙂 :B :W :B

(my perspective of 'Best' sure is different, isn't it?)

Had a combo unit. We like the two piece much better. It's just more convenient to use. IMHO vented.

We have the Splendide Stackables and they have been good units. We have had to replace one of the thermostats in the dryer but that is it in 6 years. The benefit of stackables that you can was and dry at the same time. The dryer is 110v though and does not dry as fast as a residential dryer. Still, it does a great job.

It's about like keeping your 7.3...a Splendid 2100XC does not need bulletproofing. Size of the stacked is the same but you can dry as you start another wash. I paid $400 on Clist for a almost new 2100 which is a little bigger than a 2000.
