I have ended up with two microwaves units for my OFF-ROAD POPUP setup... One is a pretty nice one with digital display and just sets on the cabinet top to be used. when in travel mode it has to to moved down to the floor area so i can lower my roof down for travel.

My big 5th wheel trailer has the Microwave/oven combo which I never figured out how to cook with it using the oven part of it...

When camping off grid with my off-road POPUP trailer I have a much smaller manual knob type microwave. this draws minimum power and is mainly used to just warm up things. It will cook up a TV diner as well... This is one of those white faced manual knob microwaves with spring timer on it (WALMART)...

When camping off grid you need to use things that doesn't draw much from the battery bank or small generator...

Amazon sells several rv sized microwaves with the flange you can use to secure it into the cabinet. My microwave fried itself over the winter somehow so I just switched it out - I don't think it was over $100.

We placed one in a cabinet no issues, current one is really in a cabinet also, as long as the fit isn't glove tight I don't see an issue.

Sounds like you already had two m/w problems. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm not sure there IS an "after market" MW. They are all one in the same

Residential M/W are typically installed inside a non vented cabinet in a house. (not to be confused with a microwave that also acts as a range vent either venting back into the room or overhead through a duct and out of the roof typically) Did you old unit also have a power vent for the range?

RV units are 110v and plug in just like at home. Often they are mounted differently. You should be able to use any M/W that fits the space and offers a similar range vent (if any) as long as you can plug it in and secure it properly.

Unless you run the micro for 20 minutes at a time, I wouldn't worry about circulation. I would buy a cheapo and go camping!
