The wife and I just pulled the trigger on a new Grand Design Momentum 381m. We will be picking it up this Saturday. This will be our first RV of any sort, and we look forward to getting it out. I gave the dealer our extensive PDI checklist so hopefully there are no surprises. Thanks to this forum for that.

Do you think our F150 short bed will do ok pulling it, and will we need a slider hitch? Just Kidding!! I worked a B&W Companion puck hitch into the deal. :B

I will keep this thread updated with pics once we take delivery. We anxiously await...

There are two filler ports, one for main and one for aux.

if there's only one filler then yes, they're in parallel with an equalizer tube. Very doubtful one fills/drains into the other; actually the more I think about that the more I realize it HAS to be parallel, otherwise there'd be a pump between them. The indicator panels are not accurate at all. The tank sensors are placed on the side of the tank so there's still an inch or so of tank above the top sensor; that's why it says "full" but still takes more water.

Also the total water capacity advertised includes the water heater, assuming it is a tank type.

Couple of questions. Spec sheet and Nautilus panel indicate I have an auxiliary water tank. The GD main data sheet supplied with the unit states the water tank is 106 gallons, therefore I assume the aux tank is 51 gallons, since GD website advertises as 157 total gallons of water capacity. How does water from the aux tank get to the water pump? There is no switch/knob to turn to use this supply. Is it gravity fed? Do the tanks equalize?

After draining both main and aux tanks empty, I filled the main tank through the panel. The InCommand center indicated 100% full. I let supply water run, to see where it might overflow from, but it never overflowed. Is this normal? Does it overflow into the aux tank? Any help is appreciated.

Got it home Saturday. The truck pulled it very well. I was at 3100 lbs pin weight, but that included the new B&W hitch that was not in my first weigh. A little over 15k empty trailer weight on the way home, 20k gwv.
I did an extensive PDI that took over two hours. The only thing we found wrong were the blue under belly LED strip lights were barely attached on the front curb side. Everything else looked/worked great.

I was actually going to recommend a Tacoma for that load. If you are a Ford guy, a mid 90s ranger is a good choice as well. People always say you need a dually to tow a pop up trailer around these parts.

Yes. I have custom mounted a hitch to the roof of my Honda Civic. I'm prettty sure I'm good for 20k towing and 4K pin weight. My air bags keep me within mfr ratings.

We will be hauling a RZR xp1k two seater for now, but have room to upgrade when needed. Kayaks and what not will also come along soon.

Not my first post. I've been a member a while, lurking and learning in the background. You guys have answered several questions for me, thank you.

You're kidding! This is a set-up, gotcha first post right?

I checked the specs on a Grand Design Momentum 381m. It's 42' long and has a dry weight of 14,700 lbs and you're going to pull it with an F150???
