Anyone have this. Looked at them today. 293RK model. How do you like your high country and is the quality what you hoped for when you got it?

Things to be aware about Keystone (I'm an owner):
1) The "nationwide" warranty is as nationwide as your local dealer. Non-purchase dealers will typically not do warranty work. Per their agreement with Keystone, they can't refuse (some do) - but mostly they'll just quote you "months" in terms of a warranty appointment.
2) Your warranty is for 1 year. A typical repair time, better than average, with an appointment, for my rig was about 30 days. It's also 30 days for multiple items, but it can be much longer. 3 repair trips can add up to a lot of time spent in the shop waiting on warranty.
3) Keystone will not ship you parts. They will not work with you. They will not provide you technical support. They will talk to you and refer you to a "dealer".
4) If your rig is over 12k lbs and has factory tires, assume you'll need to replace them.
5) Watch out for rust if your rig was built in the winter and transported.

I think Keystone builds decent quality (typically) rigs that don't cost as much as other brands, but part of that cost savings means you're putting up with some of the service issues above.

Many of these rigs come down the same line - so likely you may want to ask not only Montana owners, but other 5th wheel owners what issues they've had.

We absolutely love our Montana High Country. It is designed very well. We lived in it from Sept. 2013 - April 2014 in Branson, MO and again in Christmas, FL from February - April 2015. We have also camped without hookups many many times at our favorite state parks. Ours has a ton of storage and is very well made.

Issues we've had:
1 - The air conditioner died while in Florida but was replaced under warranty. The mobile tech said there had been a lot of air conditioner failures -- on all brands and models -- and felt there had been a bad batch.
2 - We needed to replace all the tires on our trip back to New York from Florida. Part of that was due to sun rot.
3 - small leak around the scare light - caused a tiny bit of delamination

What we love:
1 - LED lighting
2 - amount of storage both inside and underneath
3 - convenience of light switches - they are place in sensible spots
4 - floor plan and overall design
5 - electric awning
6 - fireplace -- helps take the chill off in the morning
7 - we have the large fridge
8 - second ac unit
9 - quality of unit (husband is an excellent carpenter, and he has rebuilt / modified every trailer up to this one. -- This one hasn't needed many modifications to satisfy us! We did add shelves inside an upper cabinet. He also built a spice rack near the fridge. We also added some usb ports for charging phones, iPad, etc. Another addition (by the dealer) was a hand rail going up to the bedroom. I was really glad we did this as I ended up needing chemo while living in Branson.
10 - Sensible control panel for slides, tanks, etc. (Our last one was horrible!)
11 - Large grey, fresh, holding tanks.
12 - Shelves in the washer/dryer compartment. Before, my husband always added them!

What we would like if we ever decide to trade:
Chairs that don't need to be turned sideways to travel. As we age, this becomes a little more difficult. The model one year newer than ours has theater seating.

I hope this helps. We feel it's a great unit at its price point.

Have you looked at the Keystone Alpine line?? We really liked the Montanas but then saw some Alpines at an RV show. It is higher end and some of the options on the Montana are standard in Alpines and a fully loaded Alpine was cheaper than a Montana with the options. For us it was a no brainer financially and was cheaper cuz it seemed dealers don't want to deal on Montanas. Just sayin........

I think the quality is pretty much like all the other major brands in this price range. We had a bunch of problems during the first year, but it has settled down now. The quality is pretty much what I expected. A lot depends on your dealer and how he treats you and will go to bat for you if needed. Ours was very good in the beginning, then "stunk" at the end of the warranty period because they made some internal changes to their personnel. Keystone did OK on our claims, although they were slow.

We really like it now after we have gotten the wrinkles out and I have made quite a few custom modifications.
