Just beginning to research replacing my pin box with a Morryde. Question I have is they tell you to order based on your units gvwr. I'm wondering if I am better off going with the size smaller than what my gvwr says. Loaded I would still be 1500# under using smaller size, so therefore would the correct size would be to stiff?
The only reason I was thinking of going to the smaller ones is because the smaller one is within 400 pounds of my gvwr but yet 1500 pounds in reserve over real world weight. But it sounds like a question for the Moryde reps. And I'm sure they'll tell me the same thing as I'm hearing here - to go with the actual size needed. Only reason I ask is because I heard of some owners having to go to the lighter rubber pucks because it was too stiff. I will definitely start out with what Morryde says to do.
Don't pick the pin box based on how you load the vehicle, size it for the GVWR. If you undersized it and the next owner has a pin box failure, guess whose gonna be liable for all the damages??
