Need hitch weight

I have a 1994 Newmar American Star 25ft fifth wheel, model 25WRKDFW, which has one slide.

What is the hitch weight of the unit?

That FW will be a bit much for most 1/2 ton trucks. The hitch will add more wt, on the rear axle, likely putting the 1/2 ton over RAWR. If he has one of the older (fake) 1/2 tons, with 7-8 bolt axle he would be fine.

Sounds like a nice older FW, hope it works out for him.

I have the unit for sale and the potential buyer has a half ton short bed. I did not encourage him using that truck especially if he has plans to pull it on a regular basis.

Verify GVWR by looking on sticker left front side.

This is a good place to start. Depending on how you load, pin weights can range from 20 - 25% of the trailer's GVWR. We're at 23% and don't have a generator or W/D - loaded pretty moderately, actually.

Thanks. Yes the GVWR is 10,400.

And there is no sticker outside anywhere. The sticker is on an inside cabinet door.
