New WW at the Tampa show

Did anyone get a chance to view the new WW4100 5er at the Tamps show this year?? I seen where they are in production with some new models and I believe a new manufacturer.
I know they had lots of issues in the past with previous models but just wondered if anyone looked at them or spoke to the factory reps about what they've done to the new models to fix the old problems?

I also suggested using or having disc brakes as an option. He wrote it down so we'll see.

Yes they will be on 16" wheels. I commented to them when I first walked in about tire/axle issues discussed here on this site, as to builders using marginal rated equip on their products. He said they have been listening and plan to have G rated American made tires at least on the 4100. Should be across the board but we didn't discuss that.

Just went and toured their factory yesterday and looked at their 4100 series toy hauler. Fit and finish look good, quality definitely looks to be there. These are going to be factory direct and the plus side to it is that they are willing to make changes to their design, within reason of course but if a customer wants different toilets, no problem, if they want a different shower/bath/cabinet set up in the bath, that's all possible because they do their own millwork in house.
This doesn't seem to be the normal cookie cuter manufacturer. Once they get a few manufactured I intend to go up again and check them out.
One of the big pluses is that they are using triple 8K lb axles with G rated American made tires. They are also upgrading the 5500 onan to a 7000 onan because of AC requirements.
Another item, I seen on some frames that are made by lippert is where they attach the spring shackles they use a small angle on the outside of the I-beam flange for additional support. I recommended that better reinforcing be done around the spring hangers. They told me they would be glad to have lippert do any additional reinforcing that I would request in order for me to feel more comfy with their product. The frame I looked at was a TT frame so looking forward to go back and look at a fifth wheel frame.
They took a lot of notes from my visit so I'm excited to see what improvements if any they might incorporate from my input.

Part of the appeal of the Weekend Warrior line was the design, style and higher level of trim of the line.

For a company to come out and say that all the problems are fixed from previous models is not true since the only connection between old and new trailers is the name stuck on the side and there is no track record to even refer to.

Do have an original Weekend Warrior late 2007 RKD3000 with few problems and it is hard to match the features and high trim level with other Toy Haulers built at the time.

The name Weekend Warrior was THE name in the Toy Hauler industry for a number of yeas. They were in many ways the pioneer for the whole market. They may not have been the very first but they were a key early player and one that set the stage that we have today. Weekend Warrior meant Toy Hauler just like Kleenex means facial tissue.

I believe his analogy is saying they took a well known and popular name and put it on a cheaper product. I don't know the product enough to say that's true or not though. Hopefully the long term quality is better.

That said what many WW owners know is that WW took short cuts and thus ended up with some pretty significant problems for some of their units. It's sort of like the 1950 Sunbeam toaster I still have from my parents, talk about quality. Today the Sunbeam name has been sold and it's cheap junk from China trying to ride on the coattails from a generation.

IMHO only time will tell how the new Weekend Warrior RVs hold up.

What does that even mean? Are you saying the original Weekend Warrior twas such an amazing quality product to call it a Porsche?

Yes I'm trying to see how my schedule is so I can make an appt. The 4100 is 45' long and has a 15' garage with a 1/2 bath.

Did you or are going to take him up on his invite? From what I have seen and read on line these look like they could be one of the better built trailers available. I don't know.
