No Shore power?

So I'm no electric expert but I think this should be easy for someone that has half a clue...

New Road Warrior ready for maiden voyage was plugged in to 50Amp shore power in my shop. I unplugged everything and pulled it out to load it up ready to leave tomorrow. I plugged it back in and ... nothing. Fridge is full, gas kicked on all good. No 120v though. Start the generator and after about 30 seconds everything lit up but for some reason plugging it in to shore power is a no go. Fuse panel all on. Turned them off and back on, nothing. Off the read the manual but if anyone can help me before I pull out to go north noon tomorrow I sure would appreciate it.

Problem solved thank you very much everyone! Transfer switch is bad. Thanks to the posts I could focus on that and the dealer just confirmed that it's no Bueno.

Now the fix,, the relay is very robust, the mother board not so much. pull the circuit board, get the numbers from it and order another from the switch manufacture. new switches are several hundred bucks the circuit board is 50 +/- they just snap in.

when in a hurry to get going, place jumpers across the relay. and be careful when running the gen/set. your shore power chord will be hot.

All checked again this morning and nothin. Does not make sense, the rig has never been out of the shop and has been plugged in since August. I found the transfer switch but not sure how to test that. Going to call the dealer this morning.

Testing is very easy. with your multimeter you should have 120 volts AC between the white and red, and 120 VAC between the white and black wires coming from your shore power chord.

If you do the relay should close. If you do and the relay doesn't close the transfer switch is bad.
Transfer switches have a mother board controlling the switch, and it can go bad any time.

Many have found loose wire connections inside the transfer switch. Be sure to unplug shore power before going into it. Chris

Make sure your shore cord is plugged in right. A new member of our club showed up to a rally and had no power. After we tried a few other things I found his cord was not fully inserted and locked.

I'll go unload everything and take a look in the AM, Thanks. Fancy it being ok for 9 months and the day before I leave it craps itself!

Mine shorted out after 8 mos......we were full timing and had no power...shore or generator.

Replacement didn't last either......got rid of the auto transfer switch and went 'manual' switching.

Hope yours is just stuck....but doesn't sound like it.

Shore power wires go to transfer switch
Generator wires go to transfer switch
Wires from transfer switch go to RV Main AC Panel

Transfer switch........will look something like this

And the scavenger hunt begins :B

Find the transfer switch for shore/genny. Tap with rubber mallet and retry. Switch may have stuck This is a long shot but the price is right.
I DO NOT have the same rig as you but mine was hard to find, turned out to be mounted behind the breaker box. I tapped mine and it would work 2-3 times before screwing up again. Finally replaced it

Transfer switch.......

You can get AC power from generator but not from shore power then transfer switch is first place to check for loss of AC power

That OR 50A AC power in shop is dead....tripped breakers?

I guess I'll have to when the sun comes up. I plugged it back in the same place it was plugged in not an hour earlier!

Out with the meter...

Is the power there where you plug in?

Is the power at your panel?

One or the other will point you to the problem.
