In theory if I can get a 30' BP in my drive way can I get a 35' 5th wheel in the same spot?

One thing to consider is if you make turns. Some turning movements require the truck to move in the opposite direction for a bit and could cause problems if there are any barriers in those locations, generally speaking.

Cut to scale paper cutouts of the trailers, truck, and property should give you a good idea of what will happen.

We tested out a 38 Ft. Motorhome to see if it fit in our backyard and it didn't work out. The 35ft motorhome did so we bought that one.. With us it was all about the wheel base, I guess the turning range. Three years ago my sister and her husband parked their 30 ft. Fifth wheel in our backyard and camped in it for 3 months and with the awning out, but last year they bought a 35 ft. Fifth wheel and we couldn't get in our backyard. Perhaps if we hired a professional that moves trailers.

I haven't bought a RV that way, but I have bought trucks after making sure they would go in my work garage, for instance.

This is a little harder in the case of a 5th wheel. If you don't currently have one you probably don't have a truck setup to pull one.
He could ask the dealer to have someone bring it out on the dealer's vehicle and see if they can get it in the driveway. Figure on paying that driver the standard $100+ an hour for the time he is away from the shop.

Consider this. When you pull out of your driveway with the 5er you will cut the inside corner more than with a bumper tow. In theory you will need to cut the inside corner more when backing in. If you don't have cut room on the corners to create a line it could be a problem. I had a similar scenario went from 25' BP to 31' 5er. I can get it in but it is more work and I do have to cut the corner more to create a backing line. I also have a lot of pull forward room to make adjustments which for me are necessary. I know others have skills and can put their trailer just about anywhere they want.

In theory, yes. There will be more than 5 feet of the 5vr over top of your truck so your overall length will be shorter. The difference lies in the time it takes to make the 5vr turn when backing up. It will take longer to start to turn. The width of the road you are backing in off of makes a big difference. As does the amount of flare you have at the end of the driveway.

Only YOU can answer that question. It's all determined by your own skill.

I started with 30 ' not much of an issue, went to a 34' ,still okay but getting a little more difficult. Went to a 38' , now things got a lot more difficult. Combination of a 10' RV pad, street that doesn't afford being able to get a good angle backing in. Takes a few maneuvers to get it back there.

All this being said, 8' made a lot of difference in getting it backed up in there for me. 5' could be more of an issue in your case. I knew going in it would be more difficult for me ,but doable. Its something that I think only you can figure out. Good luck.

Sure, go ahead, buy it, the worse that will happen is you'll have to pay for off site storage and fix the truck after you break the back window and dent the cab. How do you expect anyone on this forum to give you a reliable answer? It's apples and oranges.

Not only is the length different, the hitch point is different, the wheelbase is different, no one knows how wide your driveway is, what the slope is, how much room you have before you hit the back window on the truck, what the clearance you have over the truck bed, etc., etc., etc.

If the 30" BP is the one on your sig line and the then you have to look at it and the 5er seperately, you know you have 30' do you have 5' additional in front of the tt?
