I see. The toy hauler is a winnebago spyder 24fq. Could i have the trailer weighed at the dealership? I know it will be empty but it could give me a starting point i guess? Thanks again for your help.

You are asking good questions, but making mistakes.
Asking real world weights is good.
Going to manufactures weights is bad.
Real life example and weights.
My 2004 Weekend Warrior FS3000 had a tongue weight listed from Warrior of 950lbs.
I bought a tongue weight scale and measured at the ball.
No water, no toys etc. Actual tongue weight scale was 1400lbs.
Full water, no toys. Actual tongue weight scale went to 1700lbs.
4 full size quads. full water, Actual tongue weight went back to 1400lbs. I bought a WD system capable of 1500lbs and bought a new receiver for my truck to match the weights.
My trailer had 3 axles. My buddy has a FS2600 by Warrior, 2 axles. Same scenarios tested as above.
1700lbs
2100lbs
1700lbs
So, as you can see, real world tongue weight is much different than a brochure.
IMO, any full size toyhauler is too much for an 1/2 ton chassis vehicle.

Tongue weight on a bumper pull is a problem. Most are going to be in the 1500# range empty then they get a tad lighter when loaded.
Interesting, I didnt think about that but i get it. The escalade has auto load leveling rear suspension with magnetic ride control but i havent used it on anything to know how well it works...thank you for your input ill have to search out the capacity.
so the max tongue weight with distribution is 1250lbs, the dry tongue weight of the trailer is 760lbs according to manufacturers so i should be okay on that number!
