Hi Everyone, I wanted to get some info from you about rear view cameras. I want to tow my side x side on a trailer behind my fiver and want to get a camera that will have viewing on all the time so I can keep an eye on what's going on back there. what are you guys using? thank you for your input.

I have had a wireless "Peak" rear view camera that is mounted by a spring clamp to my rear widow valance inside and I can monitor the traffic behind me and if I was towing something it would work well for that also. It has a 7" screen and works great. I ordered a extra 15 ft. cable so I could mount the transmitter in the front closet and have never had a problem with getting a image of the rear view. I've had this unit for about 4 years and still works perfect and have less than $150.00 invested.
I do not think it helps much for backing but sure is a good monitor for what is happening behind you.

Ryeguy check out the link below from Camping World pricy but works great more than covers the distance no interference as it connects digitally which means no interference.

I use this system on mine.

Camera system

I set the monitor on a cigarette holding cup, in one of the 4 cup holders in the truck.

I let the wife monitor it as I don't want to be distracted by it.

Works excellent.

I have a write up on installing it in the truck here.

At Sema, Rampage debuted a new wireless wifi camera. Price could be $150 +/-. Another option would be Go PRO.

Thanks, I took a look. When you go on Ontario Cosco only one shows up but on Cosco BC there are more than one, LOL

I didn't get the info we need. One has the camera range giving 50'. What we need to know is how far away from the the receiver can we mount the camera. We need 50'. The camera's hubby has checked already don't have that range.

How far is your camera mounted away from the receiver/screen in your TV. Tanks for the info. I just read your post again and yours is wired ours has to be wireless.
