roof coating

Anyone recoat their roof? What did you use? I just ordered the primer for epdm & topcoat. Kool Seal from KTS coatings. Hope it works. It needs something to get me through a few more years till I trade or reroof it. keeping my fingers crossed.

After checking the membrane I am gonna wait until the end of this camping season to recoat it. Too many other things going on. need to put injectors, glow plugs and harnesses in my brother's truck.

Here is the roof before pressure washing. The white material is a coating applied by someone prior to me buying it. It started coming off every time it rained. I will add an after washing pic tomorrow. It was getting dark so I will get one before applying the new coating. The membrane is in good condition but just dark from the sun. Not sure why they coated it but it is time now.

This is what a friend used and it has held up for several years. Clean, apply primer for rubber roof then apply. I bought 5 gal, enough for 2 coats @ Amazon for I think $148.00. Several reviews on Amazon on rv roofs. I suppose I will find out.

Take some before and after pics and also what you had to remove up top (ie. AC covers, etc.)

I will remove a/c cover & 2 vent covers. Fridge cover has enough room to get to flashing & I have 2 fantastic fans that I will cut in around without removing. I will be removing a small solar panel as I have a new 200w system going on after the recoat. I will get some pics. It will be within the next 2 weeks.

5 gal wghs 30# so I don't think 30# distributed over the entire roof is a issue.

I truck bed doesn't expand & retract like our roofs do & is not flexible enough I think.

That is actually a good idea but I don't know about the weight of it and how it would hold up to any flexing.

I have read about people having Rhino coating put on the roof. It sounds like a workable idea to me. If it will last in a truck bed, it should last on the roof of a trailer.
