Roof Question

I have a 13 year old 5th Wheel. I always store it inside my Barn when not in use & keep up on repairs & keep it washed & waxed. I usually wash the roof 2 or 3 times a year and inspect all of the fittings and seams to make sure no leaks occur.

Yesterday I was washing the roof & doing my inspection, when I noticed a screw / nail poking up under my rubber roof close to the rear, about in the middle. I need to repair it, but I am not quite sure how to attempt this repair without cutting the roof... which I really hate yo do. Any suggestions?

Thanks, John / RVman

Well I won't feel comfortable until it's fixed... and I was hoping there was another way, but I guess I knew that is what everyone would say. Yep, those pesky screws... and it took 13 years to show itself :).

I will get on the repair after Thanksgiving & Christmas... but before we head to Florida.

Thanks for the advice.

Excellent advice. It's annoying how those wood screws have a habit of working their way upward.

Either watch it and repair it if it pokes through or slit it , fix the screw and use eternabond tape to repair the hole. Either way, use eternabond to seal it up.
