Good morning forum, Been scouting 2008 circa Hitchhiker II 26.5 and 28.5's . I know NuWa is a solid product/company and that the HH II's are their attempt at Lite's. I am really just trying to determine if there are some "quirks" or common problems to be concerned with regarding the HH II's . As always thank you in advance, as I can always count on "good advice" from our members/viewers. Happy Trails

Thanks to all who replied. Experience tells me that if well over 200 people look and I don't see a flood of unhappy replies and a long list of complaints that the "product" must be OK. I was very certain based on what I saw when checking the unit out that buying an HH II LT would be a good move. And Nolan thanks for the reco for the Nuwa forum I joined the other day and have been exploring postings on the forum. My DW and I spent the last two years looking at both new and used everywhere we traveled (38 states and several Canadian Provs), also chased things on rv trader . I almost always come away from the new stuff shaking my head at the cheap materials and poor QQ. It took a while for my DW to see that a good (well kept) used not only saved a "bundle" but would serve us better. We sold our AF 1140 TC to enjoy a little more creature comforts. The TC allowed to see almost every state with ease. But now that we have more time and can enjoy longer stays the Nuwa will be just great. So Happy Trails to all, I always feel secure with the people on "open roads".

Had a 2005 HH II. Poor construction design & sealing at wheel-wells led to rot at floors. Slide room brackets pulled away from outside walls because of the rot. Was able to install new wood at storage compartment to attach slide bracket. Sealed up with caulk & flashing tape. Check HH forum & you will get numerous reference to rotted floors. Check undersides for soft wood at outside of walls.

There is an owners forum here.

Have lived in our Hitchhiker since October 9, 2004.

We have owned our 2007 used Discover America Hitchhiker for 2 years. We love the layout of our relatively "short" HH. It has alot of storage and the interior is really well thought out. I suggest looking at Kansas RV Center in Chanute, KS. This is the site of the former factory. They check over the used units they sell & fix what needs fixing. They will also make changes for you ( at your cost). Their service dept. is top notch!

I traded down a "11" SOB to get my signature "08" NUWA. Much better built. Plumbing and wiring is neatly layed out and secured. Only thing I gripe about is the poor decals that fade and peel faster than my past trailers.
Here is a link to the archives of the older NUWAs NUWA archives

We have a 2009 HHII 29.5 KL purchased new. We routinely put 10,000 miles a year on with no problems that were not my own doing. I have looked at a lot of fifth wheels, and still have not found another that I prefered to what I already have. It's actual length is 32 feet, but the interior design allows for more storage space than many longer units. It scales 12,000 lbs wet and fully loaded, so it's easy to pull.

My parents had a 2000 Hitchhiker 2 and it was nothing but quality. Excellent fifth wheel. My wife and I looked at the 28.5 back in about 09 and really liked them except I was to cheep.
