I have a 2015 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi 4.10 gear ratio truck
Max payload is 3280
All the charts say it's Towing capabilities of 15600 pounds.
What do you all think about towing approximately 13000 pound fifth wheel with this truck.Pin weight is 2250. And I do want to be able to stop it as well

What does the yellow sticker on the door jam says about payload of your truck?

Well that 5er is no more than i tow with my 2001 Cummins, unless you are a pack rat, or have 3 high school linemen as kids, you should do just fine.

Might be pushing the TV GVWR, but well within axle, and the Hemi, should have enough power to make for a fairly pleasant tow.

It might be doable but you want like it! A Dodge 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins would be a better choice!

Well that looks like it will be doable. It will be a load for sure. It will work better in Kansas than Colorado, but the Ram is as strong as a gasser gets.

Good luck,

Max payload is 3280 Now SUBTRACT you, fuel, passengers, any stuff in cab, any stuff in bed and hitch weight from that 'payload number'.
How much you have left is what is available to 'carry' 5th wheel pin weight

All the charts say it's Towing capabilities of 15600 pounds. Marketing Dept Hype based on 150# driver and 20# cargo. Truck 'camp ready' weight (everything loaded up in truck ready to go) SUBTRACTED from GCVWR is what you have left available to tow
What do you all think about towing approximately 13000 pound fifth wheel with this truck.Pin weight is 2250. 9600 DRY so 2000# of stuff=====11,600 That is doable
And I do want to be able to stop it as well
Is it time for your medication or mine?

If you are looking at dry weight of 13K, and dry hitch, it may not work for you. If loaded weight maybe, depends on weight in truck, family, gear, etc.

As to the 15,600 towing capability, that is a bit of a manufacturer stretch. A Cummins 3500 would be a better fit.

Not saying you can't, but you'll be at upper end of capability.

Need a little more info.

Can you tow it? Maybe, but you definitely will not be happy doing it. Think 6MPG, and 20MPH up hills.

If that is the dry weight you will be pushing that Hemi. If it is Gross weight, it depends on the dry weight.

Post the 5er make and model, for a better answer.
