Seems like our next trip is Thanks giving. Might end up in Hungry valley or Dove springs. Anybody who wants to join Us is welcome. Most likely it's going to be just us.

We were at Spangler (Pipeline Road north of Teagle Wash) last weekend and we were the ONLY group there, nobody was on Stephens Mine either. Must have been a few at Charlie's Place as a couple groups rode by on Pipeline, very fun/quiet WINDY weekend.

I know my neighbor Chuck was there, he told me Teagel wash.

I won't mention any last names but Luke and Mandy's father?

Yup, they live next door to me. Small world huh.

small "open area" for blasting in circles and going crazy whereever you want, but 99% of it is "limited use" on marked trails only. "Trails" by FOJ (Friends of Jawbone) standard are wide enough for a 4x4. You can go for miles and miles on fire roads or "trails" but personally I'd be bored to tears unless there was a destination with beverages.

I am bummed, I think this is the first year in 11 years we won't be in the dez for thanksgiving....still hoping though.

We usually go out Sunday or Monday and stay until Friday, that way we leave as it gets crowded. Son has classes mon-wed this year, this is a first for us, in high school the kids always had it off. Life changes.

Great info, still up in the air where we will be going. Might have friends coming down from SF with their TH so we will see where they want to go. We are stoked! I think it's one of our favorite trips we look forward every year.

Dove Springs. Doesn't the Inyo County Sheriff's stage there for Thanksgiving Weekend?

I prefer Cal City for a few reasons. Easy to get to. Very open, so typically not hard to find a decent spot to camp. Cell Coverage in some areas (not all). I have no problem with a $15/year OHV fee - plus I pay for the RV permit (which allows 150 gal of fresh water per day, and dump station, although that dump station will be packed on that Sunday). I fill my water tank when I get there. Is it all flat? No. Rolling hills mostly, a few small hills to climb. Easy to get to Boron, Randsburg, El Paso Mountains, Husky site, B1-B crash site, X-15 crash site, etc

The crazies are more spread out in Cal City. About the only thing you have to watch for are the crazies in the trophy trucks in a couple of areas.

Spangler is decent area as well. Closer to the Pinnacles.

I prefer Jawbone Cyn over Dove Springs - but only on quieter weekends.

I know you went to Dove Springs on a big weekend recently, don't remember which one but it is TOTALLY CRAZY over Thanksgiving. I would stay as far away as possible unless you like to party, just my opinion and I'm an old fart; but with young kids like yours, wouldn't recommend it.

I think we're heading to Teagle Wash the day after, not sure.

We went memorial weekend. Wasn't too bad. Hungry valley is the same way full of idiots. Pretty much every major holiday at Hungry valley we see someone getting air lifted. We been doing this 3 years now so the kids are looking forward to it so it has to be either one. Kids leaning toward dove springs - no park rangers and they can drive the Razor plus shoot their pellet guns. Where is Teagle wash?

Spangler if you like dove springs youll love spangler. Its pretty much a no idiot zone, no poo poo less wind, try it sometime.
Well be at cuddleback somewhere by the lakebed

Its only 3 hours away!! You going thanks giving? We might go out that way since we never been there, and we like new places.

Yes were going to spangler over cuttleback area lots of good rides from there.

Remember Cuddeback is limited use, riding only on marked trails and quite a ways to get to open riding (Spangler) with Golden Wilderness between Cuddeback and Spangler.

Haha yeah good times. Better than electronics. I have two girls and they love it.

(Better than electronics) Wow or did they not have service?

It's amazing when I grew up we we're all outside doing things, nowadays everyone including me have their faces planted in their phones,GPS GoPros and what have ya.

They take their ipads and iphones when we go but like you mentioned they are face planted in them. Its good to get the away and show them how to shot pellet guns and sling shots or what a rattle snake looks like:B
