That Fuel Station Issue Again

The old swollen gear issue. I have the GPI EZ8 pump and it's locked up again. About 3 years ago I contacted GPI and they played dumb about the problem but sent me a new pump. I thought some people here mentioned bronze or metal replacement gears but maybe my google skills are weak, I can't find anything. What I see available are the same white plastic gears though I seem to have heard the gears have been upgraded and are a dark tan color. I did the sanding once before but didn't last, that was when GPI sent me another pump. Are we stuck with the same crappy parts? Has anyone used a different brand?
Thanks,
Steve.

Do any of you exercise your generators twice a month including using your pump?

My pump quit working in the heat, but caught some cold weather in NV and it worked just fine.

I have a set of the gray colored gears to install when I get a chance.

My fuel pump won't work once the sun has been on the fuel station door for a couple of hours but it works fine in the morning when the sun is on the other side. Always.

EZ-8 or EZ-8RV model pump? Just went through this issue on my 2008 Rage'n. Make sure on the model by checking the serial number tag on the pump.

Parts for EZ-8 are easy to find and reasonably priced at multiple places.

EZ-8RV parts are available from one retail source. Price seems high in comparison. That source is Affordable RV located in Hesperia, California.http://www.affordablervhd.com

If you are a qualified reseller, parts maybe available thru ECI Fuel Systems. ECI is the sole distributor of the Great Plains Industries EZ-8RV model pump.

BTW, this is the first pump problem since buying the trailer new. The gear problem showed up after a long period of the trailer sitting with a full tank of treated non ethanol fuel. Got the pump to work fine with a little gear sanding. Not sure how long the repair will last so ordered a kit from Affordable RV.

I've had to do the sanding thing as well. The best decision I ever made was to avoid putting Ethenol in the Generator tank. Since I've started to use NON Ethenol fuel, I haven't had the problem with the pump sticking.

Sorry, I know that wasn't the answer to your question, but something to consider when you do get it back to operational? Good Luck.
