We're considering buying a three wheel bicycle that will collapse for travel. Anyone have any experience, pro or con?

I got one that folds in half and handle bars are removed for travel we got ours at wal-mart but we had to order it, I think we paid $ 250.00 to 300.00. Really a nice bike, no three speed but the wife really likes. Thanks N5lui

Don't say that to a Can Am rider. lol
I just laugh at the people that ride them and think they are "Bikers" I wouldn't let one of those in my driveway. Why not just buy a convertible?

Yes pretty cool! But not cheap, US Made and worth the money about $2500

Max weight capacity is 275 lbs.

Here are some reasons that I got one, anyone can ride a Catrike. There are no balance issues, they are lightweight, low to the ground and have a small frontal area so they are aerodynamic and very efficient.

"Performance and Comfort; less frontal area makes them more aerodynamic. Recumbent riders generally experience no neck, shoulder or back pain that is common to cyclists. Your weight is comfortably distributed throughout your back and seat, whereas, conventional bikes have a lot of pressure on your seat, hands, arms and shoulders."

I found that this is all true,a very comfortable and safe ride.

A very good one is the Catrike Trail

I chose one of these instead of the conventional 3 wheeler for its lower profile,no chance of falling over, comfortable and adjustable seat and it is nice to just stop, set back and enjoy the sights around you.

Plus its Made In The USA.

My balance is poor, my reflexes aren't what they should be. After 52 years of riding I did the right thing and sold my bike before I killed myself. I feel I have a better chance and more protection with 4 wheels.
So yes, I do understand..

True, it just feels wrong to call a Spyder a trike, but they are. Just the front is the other way 'round. I'll call a trike a trike, but a Spyder, an MP3, or a Morgan is a 3-wheeler. Go figure.
