Trail Air Pin Box question

I'd like to get the Trail Air Pin Box for my 245rks 5th wheel and Etrailer seems to have the best price but they don't know what air-spring comes with the model L0-5 box and they can't special order.

According to Lippert there are four different rated air-springs (shocks) that can be ordered, since my 5th wheel is light with only a 1,200 pound pin weight their smallest air spring # 535 would be the best.

Has anyone purchased this pin box and specified what spring comes with it?

And where did you buy it? Etrailer has it for $845.

A bigger bag means more area. More area times a given air pressure means more capacity. I have this pin and it has been nothing but a problem for me. I get a lot of bucking. Trail Air sent me two additional air bags, one bigger and one smaller. My best ride was a smaller bag inflated to a higher pressure.

I helped my friend. the bag would go flat no matter how much air pressure we added. He call trailair before Lippert bought them out and the owner as I remember answered the phone. He knew right away the bag was wrong and sent the correct bag. It was an easy removal and install but I was not present at that time. I am around this MS a lot and just looked at it because I watch it for the friend. he is very happy with the product.

I was just about to ask that too:-)

Air pressure is air pressure and holds up the same amount until you pop it !

I may have to lower my psi some too - when at the top of the arrow heads the bags are rock hard and may ride better at a bit lower psi.

How did the bag go flat with the weight, you inflate it with the weight on it.
I have close to 4k pinweight, and run it at the bottom of the arrow heads, seems to ride better there then at the top.

Larry, when you said a new bag was sent where did it come from Lippert or the dealer you purchased the pin box from.

Also was there any cost involved and was it easy to swap out?

Snce it is not a spring, but rather an air bag i see no reason to worry. The insteuctions tell ypu to inflate the bag until the shock absorber raised to a specific point that is marked on it. So in essence the air bag is adjuated to the specific weight the pin carries not some mystical rated number. Over inflating makes for a bouncy ride, under inflating makes for a hard ride.
