Just be "very" certain that your dump valve is open! I believe that the thought behind this, is just in case your level indication is incorrect... you cannot have an overflow issue.

You certainly need sewer connection, water in washer has to go somewhere. Most have drain going into grey tank for shower/sink. we have Kenmore stack, 24" wide to fit thru entry door. It is a 110vac unit, drying is slower than household, but we are retired. If you have a space for W/D the height should be no problem. Would not be without one.
