I am new to the site, and Im having trouble understanding if the 5th wheel toy hauler information is found in "toy haulers" or the "5th wheels" forums....

also, on another forum, I was told there is an excellent write up here on RV.net on the weekend warrior 5th wheels and their associated problems and repairs. if someone could direct me, that would be great. Thank you

Thanks! I've never met the guy but I know many of you say he's top notch. Found his website, www.viprvservice.net

951-294-1907 is his number.

VIP RV Doc is the new name of his company.

Not sure his exact location.

There is a guy, Jim, in So Cal that used to work for Warrior back in the day. He is doing his own thing now, but he does absolutley phenomenal work.

Do you have his current contact info? I still have his old company, SoCal RV Doctor but I do recall he left and went out on his own, but I don't have it in my list of resources.

Ok, then your trailer never got the "frame upgrade.

the gussets you see are normal and are standard.

The upgrade adds more support in the wheel wells and adds cross bracing from side to side, under the trailer.

Warrior's are notorious for having "saggin walls".
It is a weird name because the root cause is the floor actually is pushed up over time.
You can tell if you have it bad as you will see a gap between your counter and the wall, or the fridge and the wall.
Some say if you bounce up and down in the back, by the ramp, and it bounces alot, then you have it. I'm not convinced of this.
Anyway, you were asking for things to look out for and this is one.
There is a guy, Jim, in So Cal that used to work for Warrior back in the day. He is doing his own thing now, but he does absolutley phenomenal work.
If you really want to have your trailer gone through/upgraded or whatever, he is the guy to take it to.
I will warn you, the frame upgrade runs about $3-4k.

Sounds like you are well on your way.
Good job.
Enjoy the trailer.
I love my Warrior.

my fiver (tri-axle) does not have bracing in the wheel wells, but slightly forward of the well and just aft of the well, there are gussets extending out from the frame that support the floor, and it looks like also the walls... are these gussets what you are referring to as wall supports?

Yes, eternabond is awesome.

Look in the wheel wells, if there is bracing from the frame up to the bottom of the wheel well, then the trailer is braced properly to avoid "wall sag".

Glad you got a good trailer.

Hopefully the genny runs.
That is no hours and they are notorious to getting the carbs gummed up from not being used.

I run my genny 30 min every month at a minimum. Even when we don't use it.

You may want to pull a few wheels/drums off and check the grease.
Repack and install new seals as necessary.
Easy to do, just takes time.

I will check for the bracing in the wheel wells to see if this unit has it installed...
the genset took a bit to get started, but it runs good.
I got all the old gas out of the gen tank and the onboard fueling station, added a can of seafoam in each tank and added gas... then ran the generator for a half hour to get the seafoam working... it starts right up now. and I always use ethanol free gas in the toys and small engines when its available, which it is in our area...

today we finished up the lift conversion with the axles. while I had them in the shop welding on the new spring seats, we pulled the grease caps off a couple hubs, and they looked good. all bearings were tight in all hubs so we just adjusted up the brakes and installed the axles under the springs...

the trailer height is now at 13'7" at the top of the dome window over the shower... it looks BIG setting up that high, but I have side boxes on each side of the pickup bed, so I needed the heigth to clear the boxes... I have 7" above the boxes, which is 13 inches above the bed rails... the trailer overhang height is 72-73" from the ground.

it squats the 3500 4" when the landing gear is raised..

I was told by numerous people on 2 other sites that it couldnt be done with side bed boxes... but is obvious that no one other than me really put their heart into the attempt, because I now have a working unit with side boxes on the truck bed 🙂

eternabond all seams they were bad about the wood being cut short under that cap causing flex and tearing of the rubber roof

It's even easier than that. There's a sticky thread at the top of this forum called ***Link Removed***.

That thread doesn't really cover WW 5ers though. The problem was specific to certain Weekend Warrior bumper pull toy haulers.

What year 5th wheel are you looking at?

we purchased a 2007 3705 model 2 months ago out of south california... in like new condition. 71 hrs on the genset and it seems to have the full option package for this model of trailer.
and all systems work flawlessly without problems...

I know 2008 was the last year they were made, with 2007 being the first year they used the full fiberglass cap on the front end.... but I have heard rumors of frame problems, problems in the pinbox area, and roof leaks, but this trailer doesnt have any problems yet..

I am assuming, as I was told, it hasnt been used much, and if thats so, im wondering what kind of problems we should be expecting with it as it gets used and ages a bit . so far, thru some of the soakers we've had here in the northwest there is no evidence of water leaks.... I appreciate the information, thanks...
