2001 Jayco Quest 5th Wheel, 6 Gal Atwood Water Heater...
Had to remove the water heater to replace cold water shut off valve. It appears that it was sealed with plumbers putty between water heater and RV body, is that right? If not what would be correct material to seal with when I return the water heater into the cavity?

Or better yet, butyl tape. It doesn't dry up & come out in a few years.

RV dealers should have it. Or perhaps your local hardware store too.

That is not plumbers putty. It is a RV bedding compound. Should be available at most RV stores. Chris
