Winterizing question

Hello all,
A bit frustrated here. We own a 2016 Keystone Fuzion 345 with the Freeze Guard winterizing system and tried to winterize the system today. We opened both low point drains, pulled the anode plug from the water heater and then switched the water heater bypass switch and winterize switch to on. According to the directions in the command center, it says to attach hose to "winterize" hose outlet and stick other end of hose into the RV antifreeze bottle. Supposedly we then go inside the camper, turn on the water pump and open up the faucets until pink flows thru. Well.......we do not hear the pump turn on when we open the faucets....nothing...no pump noise at all. We tried switching the winterize switch to off...still nothing. I closed the low point drains....still nothing. I'm assuming if we lost prime on the pump we should still hear it turn on correct? We used the water pump this summer while dry camping and it pulled water from the fresh water tank without issue (except the pump being rather loud).
I'm at a loss and ready to just pour 8-10 gallons of pink stuff in the fresh water tank to see if the pump will turn on and pull from the fresh water tank. I really don't want to do that, because it's a toy hauler and the fresh water tank is HUGE (not even sure how many gallons of pink it would take to engage the pump). At this point, I'm open to all suggestions....we did check the fuse box and the water pump fuse was fine. I'm not even sure where the water pump is located ๐Ÿ˜ž Any help would be greatly appreciated! We've already had 2 nights of 32 degree weather, so very anxious to get the unit winterized before there is any damage to the plumbing. Thanks!!

I've had a Fuzion since 2010. On second one now. I've always primed my hose leading to the connection to the pump and always made sure the small bucket I use is higher that hose connection. Did mine today the same way.

Okay, so after some trouble shooting with our pump, we have discovered that we have power to the pump.....like its waiting for the signal that water is needed....but when a faucet is opened nothing happens. We don't get the loud hum/racket that normally occurs when a faucet is opened. So is it the pressure switch or the pump itself? My husband removed the connecting hose on the intake side and there is no suction.

Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ The Fuzion is equipped with the Jensen In-Command system, which has all the switches on the tablet control panel...touch screen. It turns on lights, water heater, water pump, operates slide outs, awnings, etc. I mentioned to the dealer when we bought it, that I was a bit concerned about SO much technology and if it fails we are SOL! When I "turn on" the water pump via the In-Command touch screen and open a faucet...nothing happens. No water pump noise...nothing. There is no manual switch that we can find to bypass the stupid In-Command tablet, so I will be calling the dealer today to see if we can't get this figured out.

Do you still have water in the fresh water tank? If not, add some and see if the pump will pump fresh water. If not, then the problem is definitely with the pump or pump electrical circuit, not the FreezeGard system. I too would not add antifreeze to the fresh water tank. I would blow the system out with compressed air before I did that.

If the pump does not run at all, then there is a pump or circuit problem. Winterize switch should not prevent the pump from running, in either position.

The FreezeGuard system works great on my 5er.

Is it possible that the water pump froze on the first cold night? We had opened the low point drains last week and let those completely empty which I would think would drain most of the water from the system, but still no luck with the pump. It's a work day of course, so we will have to tackle the issue this weekend. Our plan of just "run over quick and winterize the 5th wheel with the cool FreezeGuard system" didn't quite work out as planned ๐Ÿ˜ž
Also, is there a separate fuse ON the pump itself? We checked the fuse for the water pump in the fuse box but it was fine. I'm wondering too, if the winterize switch is not working, so it's not switching suction to the winterize hose port.....strange though that when we flip the winterize switch to OFF the pump should try and draw water from the fresh water tank...it doesn't, so must be something with the pump. Why can't anything ever go smoothly??

My Fuzion is probably different, but my water pump is under the bathroom sink behind an access panel. You probably have a access panel somewhere for it.

Thanks for all suggestions so far ๐Ÿ™‚ Battery disconnect is not an issue....we figured that out after we couldn't get the battery to jump....ugh! Still no noise from the pump at all, so will have to have the DH find the pump and troubleshoot. Any ideas WHERE the pump is on Fuzion toyhaulers?? Since it won't turn on we can't follow the loud noise it usually makes ๐Ÿ˜ž

Don't dump antifreeze into your fresh water tank - you'll never get rid of the taste.

Yes, you should hear the pump run even if it hasn't primed. You need to troubleshoot that problem before doing anything else.

You didn't throw the battery disconnect did you?

On my Fuzion 325 last year I had to double up on the rubber washers at the hose connection. I was pulling nothing but air until I did that.

Check your pump on switch, its fuse , whatever to get it to run. then just let it pump the A /F to each faucet , shower and toilet. Do not forget the outdoor shower if you have one.
Rv pumps are diaphragm self priming. You do not need to give them head pressure they can suck up fluids.
