Would Like A Fifth Wheel

New to this forum! Have been camping since before I could walk in everything but a fifth wheel. Just spent the past two years fulltiming in a 43 foot diesel pusher. Sold everything to move back home to care for my parents. Have always loved fifth wheels largely due to floorplans (we eat about 95% of our meals in the rig when traveling), etc. Read an article recently about manufacturers cutting corners on fifth wheels to reach the demanding market and many now won't last five years, or so the article read. They gave no names. We would use the RV on weekends and vacations during the summer, and when parents are gone, would probably snowbird during winter months. Looking for names of good quality manufacturers. Love Mobile Suites, but not wanting to go quite that high unless no other option. Thoughts? Also, what size of pick-up is recommended?

There are a bunch of mid profile to hi end units out there, the web is your friend. Pick a price point and find a floor plan you like. I own a 2012 Yellowstone/Gulfstream Ridgeline I purchase used last year and it is very well appointed, dont rule out well cared for used. There was a post on here that listed manufactures and brands (sorry I can't find the link) hopeful some one can post a link to it and you can start there.
Good Luck

Can't help you with a brand but IMO a full 4 season with maybe a artic pack/double pane windows/etc and a high R value roof/floor and walls if your going to full time in the rig.

Any of the newer gen diesel one ton DRW trucks have GVWRs around 14000 lb and 9600-9800 RAWR for carrying pin weights and they also have 22k-30k lb tow ratings.

I you are already looking at the Mobile Suites, I would think a dually or even F450 is going to be the minimum TV and gives you a lot of room to find a nice top end or close to top end 5er.
