Fidelity Cash Management "Bank". ???

I did not want to hijack the other posting on banking.

I have use a Credit Union in OH for 10 years before Full Time plus 9 Years of full time for 90% of my banking. Most bills are automatically drafted (paid). I also have a BOA account for the other 10% only for the few times I need to "walk in" a bank -- like for a notary or get a loan. I only have one problem with the two banks.

I am thinking about adding or replacing the credit union with Fidelity's Cash Management "bank". Most of my investments IRA etc are with Fidelity. The only real reason to replace the CU is that once a year or so (Christmas) I mail checks to a number (30+) of family members and the CU has a limit on 10 "MAILED" checks a month. Fidelity's banks does not have any limit.

Has anyone use Fidelity as a on-line bank??? . . . :@

To answer the OP's question: We've used Fidelity for over 20 years for our investments and banking. Very easy to do and very satisfied.

Thanks. I wanted to send you a PM but could not. One more question.

When you use Bill Pay with Fidelity do you get notification when the check is actually CASHED? Some of the people I send checks to move often and I sometimes have an old address. A few handwritten checks have been "lost" in the mail. Therefore, I want to know not only that Fidelity has mailed the check but that it has also been cashed. One of my current banks deduct the money "when it SHOULD (schedule to)arrive". The other bank post the day the check was mailed and again the day when it was actually cashed that could be a week or so later -- two posting to my account. I like the two posting.

Yes, you can view all the information online and can see when a check has been cashed. It acts just like any bank.

You should be able to go online and see that the check has cleared, and see a picture of it. Your CU doesn't do this?

I never thought of this. Yes they do

I asked a similar question but got no response.

Much of this isn't making sense.

We do gift cards which you can buy everywhere these days. If those get lost in the mail your checking account is not compromised.

I stopped sending Christmas cards years ago. I do email a Christmas wish with a short update of my life.

Seems the easiest way to do it instead of having the bank do it with limitations. And it's also a little more personal. :W

How does your bank know how many checks you 'mail'? The limit is on the number of checks the BANK will mail for me when I use their on line bill pay feature.

A simple solution is to keep your CU, but once a year transfer money to Fidelity. Then send your checks out of Fidelity over Christmas.

Some of your younger recipients may appreciate gifts like an Amazon gift card, Starbucks..etc. Beats have to change banks.

I didn't know banks would include greeting cards with checks.
