When mh is in the garage it starts no problem if it sits outside and cools down nothing the engine does not turn over. So far I have checked battery, grounds, starter and solenoid and replaced the starter relay and it still will not even turn over, seems to be temperature sensitive. Fuses are all good. My next move is to remove the ignition switch may be moisture? Any suggestions as to my next move will be most helpfull.

Does the battery boost switch make any difference? In other words when you kick in the house batteries along with the chassis battery, does the starter turn over?
If not the ignition switch is likely bad. They do have a history of failure.

How cold is it outside the garage? It could be weak chassis batteries. Does it crank over with the jump switch to the house batteries?

I also agree that maybe the selector gear switch might not be all the way in park. So I agree with the previous post to move the selector to N and try to start it.

Hi,

I would replace the battery before changing any other parts. Batteries can work well when warm, and not well when cold.

The ignition switch and starter relays do not change in performance when hot or cold.

The OP said the engine doesn't turn over when it's cold, but starts fine when it's warm. I don't see how that's a battery problem. If the batteries turned it over too slow to start it when it's cold, then that's a battery problem (or too cold of temperatures). But if it won't turn over at all, that's not a battery problem.

The only way to check the battery is load test it. That involves a very basic GIANT resistor placed across the posts for 30 seconds and then reading the battery voltage. Any battery store should be able to do it for you for free.

Hold the brake, turn key out of lock position, shift to Neutral and try it. Could be a gear position problem.

Do the dash lights come on? Do they dim or go out when you try to start?
