Exploded!!!Sounds serious, have an RV repair service check whether your converter is charging the house battery safely. Did the battery freeze, expand and break open? When a battery is dead it can freeze in cold weather. Corrosive electrolyte from busted battery needs to be neutralized and washed away from wherever it has contacted the battery compartment, frame, etc.

Overcharging of a battery can easily cause a battery to explode. Overcharging can cause all battery acid level to get low and cause to explode. Not sure but your charger could overcharge the battery to cause this. Been there on a different item and after three exploding batteries, found that the battery charger kept a charge going when it should have stopped.

If your house battery is real low (probably a deep cycle), the onboard charger can make it heat up and bubble during full charging. When that happens, hydrogen gas is released and can go boom with sparks nearby.

The "house" battery (that powers stuff in the coach) or the "chassis" battery? I think you mean House. Do you now its history? Had you checked it before today? Did it ever work for you? A loose connection, while the battery is charging, maybe even discharging, can cause an explosion. It'll pop the battery case open. A loose cell connector could do that also by causing a spark inside the battery right where the hydrogen gas is.

Does your microwave oven, or any other 110V item work while the generator is running?

Plug the power cable plug into the generator receptacle, then start the generator and let it run for a couple of minutes, move the AC control to the fan position and then to the "cool" setting. Adjust the thermostat to colder than the ambient temperature and the compressor should start and cool air will eventually come out the vents. If you shut off the AC, don't try to turn it back on right away. It needs to "rest" 10 minutes before re-starting the compressor at the "cool" setting.

They're talking about the power cord you plug into the power post at a campground. If you look inside the area that the cord is stored, it may have a socket to plug it into, this will provide power to the camper from the generator, just like being plugged into a power pole at the campground.

My '04 Fleetwood 'C' works the same way. The power cord storage compartment has a place to plug in the power cord. Then fire up the generator and let it run while driving. I normally don't do that, though. The engine's A/C works for the cockpit and I travel by myself. Once I get to a FHU CG for the night, I let the CG electric take over. It doesn't take very long to cool down.

In my Bigfoot, you plug the power cord into an outlet that has the output from the generator. Then everything works the same as when hooked up to shore power.
