Adding steps to a Class C RV

I currently have a 2013 Coachman Leprechaun 319DS which is supposed to have the integrated "step" built into the body/frame of the vehicle. Although it is a bit lower than earlier models, it's still a bit of a reach for my wife with an arthritic hip to step up into the RV.
I was wondering if anyone ever added an additional step to their coach to make it easier to get in/out of? Not looking to add an electric step, just a manual 20-24" step and I haven't looked under the coach for bracing points, etc.
The coach is still under warranty and I don't want to run the risk of voiding that either.

I can't think of any significant warranty issue you'd have from bolting a sliding step under the frame or body. Should not be a problem. I would think any good RV dealer could handle it.

I would go back to your dealer and to Coachmen to find out what happened here. The documentation on the website includes a feature "Integrated Drop-Down Entry Step" and it doesn't sound like you have that on your RV. With the position of the door I can understand the step being too high based on the ride height of the chassis.

Bobbo and others, I thank you kindly for the quick replies. I probably should have stated that I did buy a couple at Walmart; they had them over in hardware for $10 each. They are working fine for now, but I was looking into a more "permanent solution. Come to think of it, this may be the best option without drilling holes or voiding MFG's warranties. Thanks again!!

We have one for use inside our RV shower. If it is too tall, with a little research it looks like it could be cut on a table saw to your wife's optimal height. Just make sure there is no metal rod inside the hinges.

We bought ours at Bed Bath & Beyond for $10.

How about a folding step stool until you can figure something permanent out? Even after a permanent installation, this step is very useful. We have 2 of them.
