Check out the fluid you are using, Allison has dropped Dextron III from the approved listings, seems the formula has been changed.

There is no better filter than the OEM. Aftermarket seem to have a problem with the placement of the holes, thereby restricting the flow. Look in the Yellow Pages for an Allison dealer near you. We get them for $8.25 at our dealer. They sell the Transynd also. And rgatijnet1 is correct...You are not supposed to "flush" an Allison.
