Any older Diesel Class A's with tall ceilings? 03 or older?

Just curious what some of your ceiling heights are in some of the older Class A Diesel pushers. At 6'5 or 77" tall I don't fit in a lot of coaches comfortably. We sold an 06 Damon Daybreak because I got tired of ducking around ceiling lights and walking slumped over all the time. We bought an 07 Georgetown that has a little higher ceilings. I know Alpha's have very tall ceilings but never have read anything good about them. Any other coaches with tall ceilings in the pre 03's? Reason I say 03 is because if we sell our Georgetown I'd want to be under the $40-50k range for an older diesel pusher.

You say the reviews on the Alfa products is not good but I know MANY Alfa owners who are very happy with their coaches and I am not sure you will find anything with more head room.

I am sure there are a lot of happy Alpha customers. But it seems like everyone you see for sell talks about delamination or electrical problems. Ther are nice inside though.

One of my biggest issues with the older coaches is the interiors. I don't know who designed the interiors for motor homes in the late 90's early 2000's but they were stuck in the 70's with there floral patterns and gold trims. You walk into a new coach nowadays and they have some serious wow factor. The old ones are just blah. Glad they got over the flower prints.

Not to hijack the thread but just what is it that delaminates? I'm also interested in an older model with high ceilings.

The exterior walls of the Alphas had delamination issues. Not all but a lot of them.

One of only two things that I like in Alfa Class A's in the years your speaking of very high ceilings and CAT engines! JMHO

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

The bigger Monaco's in those years are 6' 7" (79"). The roof AC filters and the track for the sliding door in the hallway decrease it to 78" in those areas. At 6' 4" I do not duck or feel the need for something higher which Monaco did around 07 on the higher end units.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

Our 2005 Fleetwood Excursion 39S has the high ceilings, you would have to check if the older ones also have them.

We purchased a 2004 Newmar Northern Star just for that reason. They are very high inside. There were built to compete with the Alpha's. They were made in 2004 and 2005. The interior height is 89 inches. It is a very well made coach. All of the Northern Star's are 39 feet long diesel pushers. They come with either 2 or 3 slides - I have the 3 slide model. Google "Newmar Northern Star brochure" and you will find the one on the Newmar site.

Check into Alfa's and Alfa Gold's. Research well, as they had some years with some delaminations. Tallest inside coach that I found when looking. Alfa owners seem to like their coaches.
