Any thoughts on Four Winds Super C on the Ford 550. Thoughts, opinions would be great?

Thanks

I just took a look at the Nexus. That's a nice rig for sure. If I had known about them, I would have at least given them a look.

For what it's worth, when looking near the same price point, the Nexus also has 19.5" tires, not 22.5. And, the Thor Super C's come with automatic jacks standard, not optional.

There is no way you can compare a F550 chassis to an International Dura Star chassis. You are taking a 19,500# chassis to a Ghost 25,999# rig. A heavy duty pickup to an International truck chassis. One with air brakes, rear air side suspension with 22.5 tires with a Cummins and an Allison trans. I have had a F550 chassis truck so I do know how a F550 drove and I have drove a Ghost and there is no comparison. There are a lot more things on the Ghost like jacks are standard. Just can't compare on price not apples to oranges. Compare apples to apples or oranges to oranges.

If you want to compare the F550 to the Nexus line than you need to look at the Phantom. The starting price on it is $117,999.

The beauty of Nexus is that they well let you make changes to the rig and add things that are not on their options list. They well go out of their way to try and build you the rig you want and not what someone else thinks you want in your MH.

I have a Nexus Ghost on order now.

Awesome! It's all I had hoped for. Yes, I had some warranty issues, as most do, but they have been fixed and from here on, it's mine.

I have a 33SW. If I had to do it over, I'd either get the 35 (because it's not a full wall slide - I've had slide issues) or look elsewhere at something totally different - as in a 5er toybox that will haul my 4,000 lb toy.

I bought a 2015 Thor Four Winds Super C 35SK last August. I had some initial warranty issues which were quickly resolved. Like anything you buy new you will have some issues regardless of the make. We recently took a trip to a small resort town in Idaho a mountainous interstate pulling the 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Did not even notice the Jeep was back there and the entire trip we got 11.7 mpg - not bad. The Thor Four Winds Super C on the F550 chassis handles well wind has little effect on it there is no drifting. The 6.7 diesel is awesome and the nice thing is that it is at least 75K less than the Nexus. It has two slides and plenty of room for the two of us and our 9 little furry children. I can honestly say that this is the first rv which has a comfortable mattress (Denver king size mattress) where the previous fifth wheel, and two travel trailers I would wake up sore in the morning. We primarily camp at camp grounds which offer full hook ups as Diane has COPD and requires the use of an oxygen concentrator 24/7 however when we travel we run the generator so she can run her concentrator and if it is hot we run the air conditioner. In the end test drive one if it is what you want get it price wise it is an excellent value if it weren't I would be the first to say so.

I camped next to a guy who had the 550 and had been driving it for a year. He said he had very few problems with it, drove great and it did look very nice. If I remember correctly it had 3 slides. Of course I'm a bit biased with my Dynamax (2nd one) and I have yet to find a super C manufacturer that has a better build quality on the coach part and of course the M2 heavy is built on a million mile chassis.

I like the fact that just about every city traveling down the interstate has a freightliner service center and or cummins. I suppose there are a ton of Ford dealers but not all of them will work on the 550 chassis.

We have had no problems with our four winds and the quality far exceeds the Winnebagos we looked at.
