Is it an A&E? My A&E did the same thing a few months ago. You need to get some zip ties, a ladder, and a second set of hands. Wedge the zip ties before you roll it up on each end of the awning. Someone will need to slowly push the awning in while the other person pushes the button to close it. Once closed, zip tie each end. It will hold until you can get to a good spot to fix it.
The part that you will probably need is similar to End Cap. Before you order it, make sure you verify that is the part as they changed it slightly in other years. You will need to get the model number and download the parts guide. IIRC the part with shipping was around $120.
