I would like to trade my trailer for used 24-26 feet Class C Motorhome with 1 slideout. What is MPG average on 24-26 Class C motorhomes? Thank You.

We have a 29ft b+, by Monaco , gets 12.6 not towing, and a solid 10 towing. Nice unit, drives like a dream. Finaly got 20k on the clock.now it's all happy-camping

A word of caution about the fuel savings described with the Sprinter diesel - you'll spend what you save in fuel on repairs, assuming you can even get a competent diesel shop to work on them. Regarding other bloated claims on fuel mileage, as some have stated previously, base your projections on the lower numbers. I anticipated 14-15 MPG when I purchased my 2008 Outlook 31C on a Chevy chassis based upon these forums. Have never come close to those numbers, best I have achieved was 8.5 MPG. Length of motorhome (i.e. weight), cab over configuration (aerodynamic or a brick), speed driven are all variables to MPG.

1. ~8 MPG

2. You should check out the search function here. It's quite splendiferous! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Hint: This topic may have come up before. Maybe.)

My $13K 1995 Fleetwood Tioga Montara 23 ft (Ford E-350 with monster 460 big block) driving 55 and 45 on the mountain passes: about 10 mpg

I recently installed a K&N air filter and that seems to have taken it from 8 to 10 mpg.

Fourwheeler.com "Project MPG" series in 1999 has various options for getting more mileage out of a 460 engine... with payback calculations.

My friend's $90K '11 Navion 24 ft with a MB Sprinter turbo diesel: about 14 mpg. Fun to drive up mountain passes, not fun to purchase ๐Ÿ˜‰

Except that in most cases that's false economy. You get better mileage, but actually spend more money not less.

The cost of the buying the Diesel engine exceeds the savings from the improved mileage in most cases.

My 25 ft actual with Chevy 8.1 , I get a low of 9 but a consistent 9.5 to 10.
If someone is getting less than than they should look at their driving habits. Getting more 11 requires a Diesel engine.

Owning and operatiing any motorhome is far from a cheap, and not like an SUV.
Fuel consumption, frequent tire replacements, and cost of mechanical and housebox maintenance/repairs/replacements/ upgrades , insurance, DMV registration fees, storage and smog testing costs need to be anticipated when deciding on buying a motorhome. If it will be used once or twice per year, renting may be a better choice.

We are 4,700+miles into this trip from Tucson to Maine, now in Kalamazoo MI. Our 24' Nexus 24', E-350 is averaging 9.5. We do not tow anything but are fully loaded for our 2
Month/7,500 mile journey. I cruise at 57 to no more than 62. Last fill up at $3.84 set me back $175... Which is why the 57-62. Ya gotta love that 55 gallon tank.

We get 10 to 12 MPG depending on terrain, wind, and how big of a hurry we are in. Traveling approx. 60 to 65 MPH on flat interstate with no headwind we get around 12 MPG. in our E-450 2012 Triple E Regency GT24MB (almost 25 ft.). We travel fully loaded with food, clothes, two people and one Basset Hound(plus extra stuff), with water tank 3/4 full and grey and black tanks almost empty.

My 28A, actually about 31' overall, with the 6.0L Chevy V8 has been at 9.0 mpg towing a car almost all of the time and includes 95 hrs of generator time. About 45,000 miles.

Oh so many influential factors, but this is my "General Take" on a 24 foot B+ with aerodynamic styling. Use for comparison more than actual numbers.

Given everything else equal.....
Ford E350-V10 - 10mpg
Ford E350-V8 - 11 mpg
Ford E450-V10 - 9mpg
Ford E450-V8 - 10mpg
GMC/Chevy-V8 - 11mpg
Sprinter Diesel - 14mpg

One word - lousy. But if you consider traveling in a car and staying in hotels, that's probably more expensive. Besides that, I know who slept in the MH bed since the last time the sheets were changed.
