Confusion on best time to buy Class A

We live in the upper midwest and have been told the best time to buy is now. But we were also told the best time to buy in Arizona(which we are willing to travel to) is in Jan-Feb. Does this all sound about right?
Thanks for any help!

Well, our coach has only been on consignment for about 4 weeks and we have an offer. We will have to work through the details to get it finalized. At least we are seeing interest fairly quickly!

Find one you can agree on, that you both like, go to NADA/RV.com, see what it books for! After a few times, you will get a idea of the good deals, and the not so good deals! Enjoy the search! There are some very good deals out there right now! Have fun!

The best time is when you are ready to go traveling. Time of year really does not make that much difference on whether you are going to get a good deal or not. If you see the coach that you like, I say go for it. We have really enjoyed ours for the last eleven years.

Get a chassis you have confidence in. Then find a floor plan you and DW both will enjoy. Then get out there and enjoy life.

Generally speaking, boats and motorcycles are best bought on a day of heavy snow and sold in the spring on a warm sunny day.

I think the end of any given month is a good time, when I finished my recent purchase, the dealer scrambled to get it delivered before months end. Those commissions are a good motive.

We need people like you to buy our used, excellent condition, RV's. Our 2008 $456,000 MSRP Dynasty is at MOT in Nacogdoches and just waiting for the call from a person just like you.

There are those of us who like to buy new and hope that those that like to buy used are lined up with their wallets open!

I don't want to be a member of the two coach club. HA!

We have only been looking for about 4-5 weeks so it's somewhat difficult for us to determine whats a fair price. I guess being rookies, that's why we aren't sure if we should wait til later in the winter and look further in the southern US. So I guess we just need to keep shopping to get a grasp on what Class A's seem to sell for.

Sorry if you know this but...you can look up the "ballpark" price on www.NADAGUIDES.com. It will give you what the suggested list price was and a suggested low and high retail price. It is not the gospel on prices but will give you an idea. Most I've talked to think that about 20% below low retail is a good place to start.Subtract for tires older than 7 years and any damage you may find. Good luck.

I bought my Winnebago, during the winter in mid January of 2005! Don't know personally when the right or wrong times are? In my case I wanted a Winnebago 35-U and there was one left on the lot that was 2004 and 3 new 2005's. The 05's at that time were priced at 135K. We were able to get the price down on the 2004 to 108K from 123K. A helping factor in my case was the 04 was a paint with decal coach and the 05 were full body paint and the dealer wanted all the decal coaches off the lot. I was also offered a new 03 (paint with decal) Journey DP for 127K but we passed because we didn't like the floor plan or the colors! With cash down we purchased the coach for 93K. I couldn't justify paying 27K more to have full body paint! Good Luck in your search!

I have a suspicion that there is no ideal time unless you are buying a new rig from a dealer. Even then, ideal may be subjective.

You might find more selection of rigs in the South, Southwest and West because that is where more of them are used year round. Plus a lot of Northern rigs are in the SW during the snowbird season.

It may be just me, but for us the best time to buy is when you find a rig that suits your needs at a price you believe to be fair.

Right now in Ohio, dealers are trying to clear their 2014 inventory for the winter. When they have their RV sales in January, it will also be clearance and newer 2015 models. You can always make your deal anytime of the year. I bought one on New Year's eve and did well as they wanted to end the year with a quota target...
