This is Cooper Tires 100th Anniversary 1914-2014, they started making tires in Findley Ohio in 1914, along with hoses and other various rubber products. They sold out to the Chinese in 2003 and now have a lot more brands that they make including Mickey Thompson and Avion. I've never ran any of there tires on my vehicles so I can't comment on there ride, but I have friends who run them and there quite happy with the price and there performance.

Cooper did not "sell out" to the Chinese in 2003. They did enter a joint venture agreement with China's Kenda Rubber though in December of 2003, to build a tire plant in Shanghai. Prior to that in 2003, Cooper purchased Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. In 2005, Cooper bought 11% of Kumho Tire in Korea, and in years since has bought other companies, such as Serbian Tire, and entered other joint ventures. Last year they had a preliminary agreement to be bought by Appolo Tyres of India, but before the deal was completed, Cooper backed out due to disagreements over share values. Cooper is the second largest US tire manufacturer, exceeded only by Goodyear, and is traded on the NYSE as "CTB".

The Roadmaster RM253 is a drive tire, not a steer tire. Look at the RM170, It can be used as a drive or steer tire. We are running the Roadmaster RM170 tire for a year now and have no complaints.

I guess I have been on the rails too long. Most any trade job, ball busting is a requirement.

When the ball busting posts over a simple typo outnumber the useful information, enough's enough...

Used Coopers in the past on other RV's, they were fine.

Replaced Michelin's on current MH with Hankooks.

The Michelin sidewalls were cracking after one year. 3 1/2 years on the Hankooks, not a crack on the sidewall of any of the Hankooks.

Not sure what the BEST tire is, but most likely will replace the current Hankooks with Hankooks when the time comes. Same nice ride as with the Michies, and for less cost.

Hankooks came as OEM on the Sonic, nice auto tire as well.

On the advice of my mechanic,
I replaced my aged out Michelins, sixteen inch,
With Cooper tires.
Very well pleased after a year.

Less money, much better ride.

I certainly would advise you to check them out.

Copper would be expensive to make a tire. And it would get green with oxidation.

And imagine the ride after hitting a pothole or two.

Cooper makes a good tire, and I have used their Roadmaster line on various trucks over the years with good results. I currently have Cooper's on my '02 RAV4, and "Mesa" brand tires, made by Cooper, on my coach.
