What is the general consensus on this brand both pre and post Thor takeover?

I own a 1996 Ultrasport and found it to be a "value" brand MH. The form and fit is decent, the materials are nice and everything works as it should. Handles don't fall off, little things don't stop working and so on. So all in all my Damon was a decent bang for the buck. But that it one mans story about one mans MH.

What did you find?

Our Damon has been relativity trouble free. Works good, looks good, fit and finish is good, no leaks, very livable and we are happy with it. At the end of the day I guess that's all one can ask.

Thor? -- never owned one so no comment.

We like our 1993 Damon Challenger. It has a fuel injected 454 Chevy engine with overdrive transmission. Last year I drove 5677 miles and averaged 9.5 miles per gallon.

Our 2008 Tuscany has been a wonderful coach with only a couple minor issues. When I call Thor with questions I have been treated great with very helpful techs.

Bought a 2008 Essence Damon in 2008. New coach. Pretty nice trim interior. Sleep Number king bed, 4 door refrig, corian countertops, ceramic floor, 4 slides etc. Very few problems but when you do contact service or parts at the factory there was/is the most grouchy woman (I will not call her a lady) I have ever talked to. Did not want to give you parts numbers or information on other sources that would work. When I tried to order parts, she refused to sell to me saying I needed to buy from my dealer I bought from. I told her he had gone out of business and she very reluctantly finally gave me a part number for the cable that powers the step well cover. Likely will NOT buy another Thor coach for the way this woman acted and treated me. I will tell the dealer why and let him tell the people at the factory how he missed a quarter mil sale because of this woman.

Like thor and forest river, they are low end.
The only damon i ever looked at seriously was so low end as to not be considered.

In a lot of cases, ie ford v10's, they are all really close regardless of nameplate, with others, such as forty foot DP's with isb drivetrains and the cheapest possible frieghtliner chassis, not so much.

The Damon daybreak I test drove before buying a 1999 fleetwood pace arrow (for 30k) was HORRIBLE.

I had a 2003 Challenger and I agree with you Damons were pretty decent for the money. I looked at Damons after Thor bought the company and thought they had been downgraded, specially the interior quality.
